TSP Poker Club

Folks, poker is a great game. You just witnessed one aspect: trying to put or keep your opponent on tilt. Most people don't do it. I only do it in self-defense, so you other TSP'ers are safe from me. :)

Tilt is a poker term for a state of mental or emotional confusion or frustration in which a player adopts a less than optimal strategy, usually resulting in the player becoming over-aggressive. This term is closely associated with steam and some consider the terms equivalent, but 'steam' typically carries more anger and intensity.[1]

It is (normally) not serious (most applicable to the one trying to tilt the other.) Poker is psychological.

That screenshot was meant to show my opponent that I have much bankroll and can go or call all-ins without stress.

Etc. etc.

I expect my opponent will be well discombobulated come Sunday as this whole experience marinates in his mind. Don't let his wit fool ya folks, he is mortal.

If you haven't played live, yet, get a little practice online and give it a try one day, I'm sure you'll like it.

And there's nothing better than winning real chips simply by playing a game, chatting with strangers/future-poker-buddies, and (for me) drinking beer.

if anyone has even the slightest interest in playing poker with your tsptalk friends and acquaintances here, i encourage you to sign up for the TSP Poker Club. it is free, involves no real money or real names, and perfectly legal as nothing of value other than pride changes hands.

we have six members so far: burrocrat, tsptalk, usercue, firedog, k0nkuzh0n, and alevin. there is a tournament scheduled for this sunday at 8 pm eastern time, but that can be changed to accommodate personal schedules.

pm me with an email address and i will get you sign up information and download instructions. good luck at the tables.

I won't be able to make this Sunday's game. I'll be in Nevada trying to lose real money. :)

We could commandeer an empty public table and play a cash (play cash) game whenever we don't have enough folks for a tourney....build up our stacks. :)

did you get my PM? I never received an email, unless that was you sending me an offer to Enlarge my.... um... bankroll :) my email is my username daze823 at aol . com
