Just to refresh anyones memory..it ain't WWII

 well, in my defense, i'm a little cross eyed at the end of the day reading all those addresses. i guess i was seeing double...or it could have been the 3 mai tai's after work at Bongo Ben's. :cheesy:

ok, this is my final stupid answer.... a horse pulling an artillery wagon. i watched War Horse.

PO! just give us the dang answer!

Can't picture how they'd have done it, but got to be rail. somehow. And speaking of the Spanish Flu, my grandmother remembered and talked to me about it several years back. She was 11 at the time. We lost one toddler from it. I survived the Feb 57-lucky me, lucky mom, she'd just given birth.

Hmmmm. By 10.5 hours I guess maybe alevin? Frixxxx was also correct.

Little (relatively) 60 cm or 2 foot gauge trains. They manufactured track in sections much like a model railroad set and made them go where needed. Steam proved to make enough smoke for a good arty target so they developed gasoline powered power.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trench_railways. Lots of other info googling 60cm railway.

I guess alevin wins. since she was earlier to reply with "rail"

Scout333 would be the ultimate judge, having started the thread.

I don't want you retired guys to get lazy Buster. I guess I could have asked what is Tom Terrific's first name.tom terrific and manfred.JPG

Alevin, ask some obscure mathematical, statistical thing with a formula containing Σ. That will make all our heads explode.

Buster you may be right. As soon as I won I thought I really don't have time to give this the attention it deserves.;)

I believe that a simple yes or/a No would have sufficed for the given recent and I might also say, ONLY answers or guesses to your question....

But in light of your current attitude, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Snoop Dog or Rocky wasn't the answers your were looking for, as to where the word(s) Yo-Yo came from..

All said in the tone that Sheldon Cooper uses like on Big Bang theory:cheesy:

Awwright you guys (and gal), truth time. I thought the snoop dog thing was a goof on nnnutt saying something right before I posed my question, thought he hadn't even noticed the question. didn't even connect with me mentally as an answer to the question, guess I'm culturally out of touch. then I thought Annie's response was goofing on buster, didn't make connection to the question there either. :o As for nnuut, he makes soooo much sense, :D but nah, that's not the answer either. Keep on trying, all. You'll get there. Answer's in the history books-clue.
