There are over 49,000 TSP Millionaires!!

I would love to see breakout buy years contributed going back from 12/31/2019.

5 years
10 years
15 years....

That would show the market rise and fall better.

With many top government employees rolling over private accounts into TSP, not surprised by this. My 3 year break from government service and I rolled over 33% of current value. I was afforded the ability to contribute more on the outside.

Now I'm at catch-up levels. OMG 2019 really was a good year, hoping for more.

Good to see you my friend!

I would have been a lot closer to a million if I had been more aggressive last year. Still, getting there.

Great article over on Fedsmith.com, giving data on the most recent stats for TSP holders.

The highest account balance is over $7 million right now- but there are also more than 49,000 people with more than a million bucks!

Read the full story here- then come back with your comments- what do you think?

Never, ever thought that my next milestone would be that number.

Still quite a ways off, but my windshield points to the mil marker rather than any of the other normal markers.

The FedSmith article also has data on lesser TSP amounts that we can compare ourselves to. I don't expect that there are too many of the 49,000 millionaires here on TSPTalk. I'd be happy with half that amount. I can't complain too much, though. I had a good year last year that helped me a long way toward retirement. Now I just need to keep it. Either way, up or down, I won't be retiring at the end of 2022.

There is at least one if he/she is still around.

There is a poll on FedSmith today asking if you have over $1 million in your TSP account.

So far 28 have answered yes and 311 have answered no.

This morning the poll is up to 52 YES and 569 NO.

That's still around 8% Millionaires.

I watched that video and still don’t know if he’s saying we have many more good days coming or recession is around the corner ??

He's very bullish, but he was explaining why he did't match the return of the S&P 500 last year - because he missed the 1st 12% of the snap back rally off the lows.

I was just being a wise guy about what can happen to $1M if things go south.

Thanks. I guess I was just surprised it came from you since I know you’ve been cautious about the market lately

Hey Tom- You're my friend, right?

Cause I just wanna be sure I'm in the right spot.

I heard- you know I heard that Friends don't let friends buy and hold.

That's our motto alright, but our company is also called, "Buy Low Sell High, Inc." And I'm pretty sure we're closer to the high than the low right now. :D
