The new TSP website is an unmitigated disaster!

Does anyone have a clue how to see your roth vs. traditional account balances?

I know that they sent out my quarterly statement (even though I have paperless selected)... I think that it was a default action (well, then again I'm active duty) for most if not everyone on file. Maybe that information is there if you have or will receive it? Perhaps you can check the statement online? I would check my paper one but I already shredded it (I hate paper copies!)

I got my quarterly statement in the mail today also. HAHAHA!! Quarterly statement, 5/26/22 though 6/30/22.

Has anyone actually been able to add their beneficiary/beneficiaries online?

I went online yesterday and was able to add my spouse as a beneficiary. I had to do this because they "lost" my wife of 50 years when the new improved system went online. I retired in 2008 and at that time they knew I had a spouse. For the past 14 years I have been getting monthly payments and they had my spouse listed in my profile. She was also listed as beneficiary that whole time. But when they turned on the NEW system, she was gone from my record. No spouse. No beneficiary. What fun. She was not amused.

Anyway, like I say, I WAS able to add her back in (online) as my beneficiary. I marked in that form that she is my spouse. However, even though it now shows her as my beneficiary, it still says under my profile that they don't know I'm married.

It has been about 6 months since I made my last IFT. I'm not even sure how you make IFT's on this new system? Is there a telephone number that gives you prompts about what % you want in each fund? I don't have a lot of time or energy to put into this, I'm back to work full time. I'm recovering from COVID and other issues from a motorcycle wreck that put me in a coma for 6 weeks. If anyone can help me with this, I'd be very grateful.

I noticed that I am getting statements via snail mail, since the switch over. I looked on the new site, took a while to find the setting, but appears that I am set up for email delivery of statements. Anyone else notice this?

Sorry to hear about your health issues, DB. I haven't called to make transactions but the website (and the app from what I hear) seem to be pretty straight forward when making IFTs.

Yes, same thing happened to me. I think that it is just a default action, along with how they separated the statements in two for the last two periods in the quarter(s) (during the transition). I have my setting on email too. I went to the chat help for this issue (because I don't like my retirement info floating around the mail) and after speaking with three different reps and constantly losing connection to each one, no one was actually able to help me figure out what was going on. I don't even blame them heh, I don't think that they knew what to tell me at that time.

From memory, choose "change investments" and move from one fund to another or change investment mix.
When you enter the website choose "Savings" and there s/b choices on the left side - on a PC
Not sure how the app works.

In what way did they believe that deleting ALL historical data before May of 2022 was somehow an “upgrade” that we we wanted?
I am retired and have used past performance information on my particular accounts distribution to inform decisions regarding changes. I find it completely unacceptable that I cannot even get a chart for 2021.

Are there any plans to remedy this glaring problem or has all of my historical data gone the way of Secret Service texts?

quick question about new TSP site. Is it still 2 moves a month? Is it still get transaction in by noon Eastern, will go in effect the next day?
Thanks in advance

I have felt all the pains that many of you have experienced. I just rolled over my entire account to a new financial institution that has nearly endless investment options and amazing customer service. Within a few days of my money moving I received a personal call from someone welcoming me and gave me a personal email and phone number to call for any questions I may have or information on various retirement options. Couldn't be happier.

You know better than that! Incompetence is rarely a reason to fire someone in the government. If it was half of the federal government would be on the unemployment line.

Off topic, but this pushed one of my buttons a bit. I'm sure there was no intent to do so with anyone

You must work for a different agency than I did. I can honestly say that very few of the hundreds of people I worked with daily over the course of my career were incompetent. There were some for sure, but most put in at least an honest day's work for an honest day's pay, and did so competently. Maybe it was my field -- natural resources management. Most people actually enjoyed their jobs. Yeah, it was miserable trying to get rid of someone who had career status, but it could be done, and was done, including by me personally. I did find it much easier to make under-performing people unhappy enough to leave of their own accord, however.

Oh ... and the new TSP website is worse than an unmitigated disaster in my opinion. Keep in mind, it's operated by a contractor -- not federal employees.

Does anyone know how to turn off the paper mailing of the quarterly statement from this bloody awful web site!! I have chosen paperless and see no other method to stop this. Yet they keep sending me paper copies. What a travesty.

We were talking about this on the previous page. I think that it's a default action for a lot of us, I received two partial quarterly paper statements as well (so did others) even though I have paperless (email) selected on the website. It's my assumption (I hate assuming though hah) that it will return to normal once the madness settles down. I don't remember off the top of my head but there's a place on the website where you choose between physical mailing or email, but even if email is selected, recently they've sent out the physical statements in conjunction with the web page change.

still terrible website for me. went to move out of g fund today. get nothing but a blank screen. so then I click the contact at bottom of page. still just a black page. all I can see is the first page with all of their stupid smiles.
And yes I have an older computer still windows 7, zero problems on any other website, except the tsp gov site. zero problems using jhe govt savings bond website.

can somebody post the number to call these idiots?

thanks

so after my last post I get an email from TSP telling me I have to re-register all over again even though I did in june to be able to access the site which I have been able to do, just can't do anything. the email states that basically the june enrollment really meant nothing.

just pushing me more and more to just withdrawn all monies and close the account and say good bye to blackrock. well BR is everywhere and tracking everything.

and thank you "...58"for the number.

I talked to the TSP folks in DC. There is NO PLAN to add any more historical data than what is currently available on the website.

They said:
1. The old data is much too large to transfer over, and “hardly anybody would use it anyway, and
2. “…it would be too much of a security risk”, whatever that means.

I’m certain what we have now is all we will ever have.
