Stock Market
Lesson # 101

Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started
Catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 ! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys. Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works!!

Weather,
Sounds definitely applicable to that "Rouque Trader" in France, to those SIVs -for sure,
...but assume you desire the analogy to also be illustrative of The Market in general. Its good! :D:sick:

new topic to consider in the Bar....If you could invent a new government structure, how would you do it.

My initial thoughts would be to tackle the problems that exists in our government and fix them.

1)My first thing would be compare the govt to big business and do a business model if possible.

2)Limited income...tax citizens at a fixed rate that is justifiable...this is the determining factor....and there is enough information on how much this should be in private business and govt.

3)Dedicate resources to primary needs....percentages of the tax income go to divisions such as defense, infrastructure, operation costs, future economic and so forth. There is enough historical info to establish this.

4)Take out special interest lobbyist and so forth. Basically take away getting a vote for a promise. Major weakpoint.

5)Reduce operational costs of community representatives. Can't business be carried over communications and representatives have a regular occupation.

6)Get out of the Welfare/benefit business. U want to run a central organization not a giveaway program for votes. Let the citizens take care of each other. Never demand one citizen to give up his prosperity (by law/taxes)....its not justified nor right.

U got any ideas......here is your chance between drinks at the Monkey Bar....

This just came in...

Dear Patriot,

I have made a decision....I'm gonna vote for Hillary for her fortitude....no matter what her qualifications.......she has none.

Na, I just changed my mind, I think that I will vote for Obama, for his insight to his personal guidance from his pastor at his church.....G D A or is it KKK of the USA or or or ......I wonder what the kids at the church think? Seems mighty familiar like what they teach at them schools in the middle east.....

Na, I can't do it...figured I might be labled as a conscientious objector, or a convicted as a sympathizer.....but then again, I would be just like all the rest of the Democratic fruitheads in our country.....its everyone elses fault.....but I can read and think on my feet.

What the hell am I talking about, even the Republican candidate doesn't measure up.....lets break the laws of the country and hire on illegal aliens to do cheap labor....

Hey, where do I live anyhow?? I can't say anymore, it don't seem like the good ole USA, Land of the Free, the Brave.....heck every politician I vote for forgets about me after they get in office, just like Rome in the later days of the empire, so maybe ......

Why vote at all??? It wouldn't do any good at all would it.

This message is a service of my Public Warning System.....since the other one may be out of commission due to the lack of financial money that the politicians spent on buying people to vote.

Hey, I wonder where I can get paid to vote....it might be a good job in today's job market!

Have a good day friend and fellow patriot!!

Your fellow taxpayer.

Interesting thoughts thar partner....

I find it ridiculous other than some entities wanting to make a profit that no one has suggested to regulate the one thing causing this economic mess....cost of energy. Along with the cost of money, labor, corporate structure costs its one of the main costs to doing business....low energy cost is good for economics.....control the cost of it and regulate your economics in a better light. ITS SO SIMPLE.

The ironic thing about all this is.... so a few make a big profit, most don't and then mostly it averages out for them overall....so then I ask.....why the one sided profit taking???

IT is the best interest to the whole society to get a grip on this rogue variable.....economics could be a steady growing entity.....

Beers for everybody Barkeep!!!!

U know, American's are sooooo stupid.....yeap stupid.....who else is well known for letting someone pull the wool over their eyes every time we have an election.....I say this after reading the articles of Chelsea promoting who else .....her political activity is circus theater and the gulliable Americans buy into it.

When are we going to find a true statesman?

Where is the accountability?

When is the American people gonna get tired of being robbed by special interest? Their interest is tax you more and bill the govt for PORk at a high price.....waste spending.

Maybe Americans should be more educated and realize the farst that occurs every 2 or 4 years and demand results. LIke I have mentioned before, if certain laws were in place to regulate much more reasonable tax rates, and where it can be spent in what areas, lobbyist were made illegal, and so forth, alot of this PORK waste that is spent to absorb those excess taxes can be eliminated and they can have a better economy.

Its up to the Americans if they think they are smart enough.....(I don't think they are....soooo stupid! Its becoming a joke around the world on their gullability!!!)

And then there is the FED and so forth.....I thought monopolys were suppose to be run out of town.....what do you call protecting big oil, banks, and so forth......heck its big oil thats at fault for todays economics....what about the everyday Joe!!! Oh that's right, he votes people in office only to watch them pull the wool over their eyes.....see what I mean....Stupid.

Hey, one thing I've noticed of late, oil hasn't jumped because of a oil pipeline in IRAQ getting blown up or Nigerian rebels attacking tankers or or or.....wake up everyone.....they quit running up the price because they would put the world in a tailspin if they did.......

DUH!!!

Yep, Yer right again, but if they run up the price of Gas and Oil anymore, I'm going to have to WALK to WORK!! CROOKS!

just read a news article about the "Global Recession" that will occur soon due to US economic demise....

Its like I said two years ago....you can't do what they were doing (going overseas) in that fast of manner if you want to maintain stability world wide....reprecussions exists for such an overseas investment strategy......

I think over the next several years the world and particulary the US will learn a valuable lesson on economic instability.....and they will net less overall....just ask you neighbor who just said they haven't prospered in this last economic expansion....first time since WWII.....

NAFTA, CAFTA...and so on to blame. They were one way streets and it was not going to go the US way....u can thank your representatives for that one.

How can so many leaders be so damn stupid at the same time? Even I knew better!!

Cause they are cheep cheep cheap...

Also the cost to companies of bearing the burden of health insurance jacks up the cost of employing people here by around 40% - though that's not an excuse it IS a problem.

By the way, NAFTA and CAFTA ain't the problem, neither of them contain China. Our market is already wide open. These days trade agreements get us access to other countries. Barn door is already gone, folks.

Problem right now is we are willing to import anything from anyone as long as it's cheap - and people have already gotten hurt over that - we got the laws on the books to protect people from phony pharmaceuticals and lead painted toys, which are NOT enforced.

I see BB made a statement about today's economy not like the Depression.....well lets see, it may not be exactly like the way is was back then, but this economic picture is going to poise as one that inflation, lack of income, lack of jobs, more mortages going down the tubes, excessive corporate profits, (hey excess CEO retirements too)....and so forth to make an elongated recession....if its fended off in light, then no Depression....if not....Depression....

Hey, the dollar is way down, and we still are growing a trade deficit....that should tell ya something BB......and I don't think you can grow enough jobs in the next two years to stop it.
