Lesson # 101
Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started
Catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 ! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."
The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys. Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works!!

new topic to consider in the Bar....If you could invent a new government structure, how would you do it.
My initial thoughts would be to tackle the problems that exists in our government and fix them.
1)My first thing would be compare the govt to big business and do a business model if possible.
2)Limited income...tax citizens at a fixed rate that is justifiable...this is the determining factor....and there is enough information on how much this should be in private business and govt.
3)Dedicate resources to primary needs....percentages of the tax income go to divisions such as defense, infrastructure, operation costs, future economic and so forth. There is enough historical info to establish this.
4)Take out special interest lobbyist and so forth. Basically take away getting a vote for a promise. Major weakpoint.
5)Reduce operational costs of community representatives. Can't business be carried over communications and representatives have a regular occupation.
6)Get out of the Welfare/benefit business. U want to run a central organization not a giveaway program for votes. Let the citizens take care of each other. Never demand one citizen to give up his prosperity (by law/taxes)....its not justified nor right.
U got any ideas......here is your chance between drinks at the Monkey Bar....

I have to agree with you on this one CARNAC!!!I find it ridiculous other than some entities wanting to make a profit that no one has suggested to regulate the one thing causing this economic mess....cost of energy. Along with the cost of money, labor, corporate structure costs its one of the main costs to doing business....low energy cost is good for economics.....control the cost of it and regulate your economics in a better light. ITS SO SIMPLE.
The ironic thing about all this is.... so a few make a big profit, most don't and then mostly it averages out for them overall....so then I ask.....why the one sided profit taking???
IT is the best interest to the whole society to get a grip on this rogue variable.....economics could be a steady growing entity.....
Beers for everybody Barkeep!!!!

just read a news article about the "Global Recession" that will occur soon due to US economic demise....Yep, Yer right again, but if they run up the price of Gas and Oil anymore, I'm going to have to WALK to WORK!! CROOKS!
Cause they are cheep cheep cheap...How can so many leaders be so damn stupid at the same time? Even I knew better!!
Cause they are cheep cheep cheap...
Also the cost to companies of bearing the burden of health insurance jacks up the cost of employing people here by around 40% - though that's not an excuse it IS a problem.
By the way, NAFTA and CAFTA ain't the problem, neither of them contain China. Our market is already wide open. These days trade agreements get us access to other countries. Barn door is already gone, folks.
Problem right now is we are willing to import anything from anyone as long as it's cheap - and people have already gotten hurt over that - we got the laws on the books to protect people from phony pharmaceuticals and lead painted toys, which are NOT enforced.
