Head for the tall grass and keep your bum covered until next year, there's trouble coming in waves due to the massive fallout that will occur from the massive real estate boom, we just had.

:) I thank God for inspiring whoever put this site together! It must have taken a lot of work and money to put this together.
I graduated in Computers and I don't know much about the market. With all these pro's knowing what to do and what to look out for, Life for me is good. It could be fantastic like it was before the IFT limit rules took place.
Before I would make or lose over a $1000.00 a day, when the makets were in correct coordination with the moon?
I really should be paying a lot more attention to this but, my bread and butter, gets paid for by writing code. :D

Thanks for the kind words danny. TSP Talk was my idea but I still say the members of this board / forum make the site what it is today. They make up what has become a big "mastermind" of TSP and investing ideas.

Yes the markets are bleak!

But, be careful on the advice you hear!

Remember TSP funds are made up of index funds. Not just one fund but many many funds. They are as safe as funds can be. They will take a hit, but eventually bounce back.

If you sell now and run to "safe" money market funds, you will lose the returns when they advance back, and, fundamentals will eventually get repaired.

Know what you are doing and be careful of the FED, politicians, greedy bankers and financial guru's

Doesn't that make 5 horsemen and 5 horses ?

SPAF: Are you talking about John McCains fundamentals ?

Yep the markets are bleak and I think will be for at least sometime into next year, cause there are alot of these ARMS still left to reset in 2009 and 2010. So even though, I'm sitting on the lily pad with my tsp funds, with quick jumps in and out a month, I'm scraping together every penny I can and adding stocks to mine and my wifes ROTH. There are some bargains out there and I aim to haul in as many as I can afford. If only I didn't have to eat.

I put 50% in the other day and now I am putting in the last 50% today . It may go lower but I think this is a good entry point for me, as I have been in G fund for the most part for over a year, and the cash is burning a hole in my pocket. the two trades/month rule has taken the life out of me. I have 10 yrs left to retire. I think/hope this plan will work for me.
Good Luck to all
Joe

You get food with your budget? Man, I'm pumping so much into the currency market, I forget to eat...hahaha

"F":cool:

NOw that's an idea, maybe I can get ny daughtr and wife to stop eating, this fine tuned financial brain of mine does need some type of intake... maybe just a liquid diet. :D

Good luck Joe,

I know what ya mean about the 2 IFT's really cramping us, but with just a shade over 4 years to go, I'm picking my spots, with an eye towards CP on my TSP, but for my ROTH's it's full speed ahead.

SPAF: Are you talking about John McCains fundamentals ?

In my opinion McCain initially used "fundamentals" in a wrong term. He later clairified it.

In the sense of "market fundamentals" I consider the economy, markets, sectors, and individual stocks.

Some folks imply that money markets are safe. Should we sell our stocks and deposit them in money market accounts, or run for the "G-fund." My opinion is don't sell low if you are holding good investments i.e., index funds like TSP. I know it's painful right now. However, I have faith that in time the economy crisis will pass, and stocks will recover. It might take a while, but I have patience.

My two wishes are all used up for the month, this suc*s. I got really lucky thats for sure.
The question now is, do I take the ride up in a hold position for the long term or jump back to G in two or three days after the buying frenzy is over. Can I get that lucky again.
Good Luck to all

We finally got some wonderful and long-needed price relief this summer! The last couple years was like throwing money after a speeding train. Now us young guys are finally getting some shares for our dollars again. :D Just hope it lasts for a while and then I can manage to unload my reserve G and savings at the right time to catch the next elevator up. ;)

Yes. Us young guys want some cheap prices! Only how will we know when it's the cheapest?

It's all relative. You just gotta keep accumulating and hope it doesn't go back up too soon.

So far this week I lost 50% of what I made last week. Todays gains will off set some of that, but Friday is not looking good. This trade limit is the worst.
I think its going to get really bad a few days after the bail out is reached because people are still broke and unemployed. I may slide back to G tomorrow for Monday and sit tight until the next big bottom.
