SteelSaving's Account Talk

Here, here! Or the GS bots taking profits or both. The vote of the German parliament on Thursday is critical, plus the anxious horsetrading leading up to it. Good luck, Angela.

CNBC and Seeking Alpha: Split arising in the Euro Zone between hardline and softline factions on the Greek bailout. Adds to the nervousness.
Wall of worry?

But the futures as of 17:30 EDT are fairly neutral.

But the thought of holding into next month is too scary. Holding into Friday is scary enough. Bag your profits and run. Right now, holding into tomorrow is a dark room. I'm hopeful Thursday will be positive and tomorrow at least neutral. I know, hope is not a strategy. And Friday (or all three: Wed.-Fri.) may be positive too with end-of-month rebalancing (window dressing) (this point is alluded to in the last link (Europe...faster).

Can you invest in individual stocks in an IRA?

I am looking around the sites and they all keep promoting their funds without being clear about stocks. I already figure it will cost more to trade this way but I would like to know I actually have the option.

USAA is pretty clear, Vanguard (for example) isn't.

I do, but I use USAA... about to switch to TD Ameritrade or ThinkorSwim... more options

Stocks fit nicely into an IRA because they pay dividends 4 times a year and that allows dividend reinvestments 4 times a year and usually are commission free.

So apparently it was just put in at yesterday's prices (I won't complain, it actually saved me a few bucks).
But it has never done that before, it usually shows up at the end of pay day.

Nobody else have this issue this pay period?

Currently holding a position that would give me a gain for today if I got out now.
Luckily, I have about 30 more minutes to decide.
Unfortunately, there are another 4 hours until the markets close and that's the price I would sell at.

NSurf, you have mentioned the noon EST decision time as something that you were looking into changing as well as increasing our IFT limits.
In my opinion, getting our cutoff time changed to 3 or 3:30 EST is just as, if not more, important then increasing IFT's.
Are you still going to pursue changing the cutoff time?

For the 2nd time in 3 months, my contribution did not go into my account at the end of pay day.
Is nobody else seeing this with their account? I'd really like to know where my money is sitting.

I hope they give you back earnings for it. They probly won't. It's probly a TSP posting problem. I hate when the TSP pulles my monthly withdrawl 3 days early before electronic transfer to me. I guess it's the chance of them making a coulple of days interest on it like the banks do on deposits..

Well, 1% away from being back on track to my goal of 3%/month.
If tomorrow looks like a solid positive day, I may jump to safety anyway. I've made over 5% this month, not looking to tempt fate.

Hmmmm, 3% is my goal also but was hoping to get an early start for April so I can relax a little.. Congrats on the 5%. That's just 2% short of what I made all of last year. LOL
