Re: Our summer place, pt. 1

Just checking in. I've been trying to leave my investments alone during this correction. Trying to think long-term on this one. It's been a lot less stress. And I've been re-energizing here:

Do all the trees on your place lean to the left? Last time I was in the neighborhood things were decidedly the other way.

Making me homesick now, live it for the both of us. I could use a day or two in the hills.

Got dirt? way to go.

Nope all the trees still lean to the right. Must be because Las Vegas blows.

If you need some time in the hills then bring J and come on down for a few days. I just happen to know of a place where you can pitch your tent!

Thank you, ma'am.

I'll give you a heads up and ask first, of course. It's good to know there are stops along the way. Could come in handy sometime.

You haven't posted much on your indicators/analysis lately are you still following them?

Hi my friend, yes I am still following my indicators but I'm only around a computer about one week a month lately.

My indicators are currently skewed by the debt crisis downtrend but here is a chart:

My own sense of things, for what little that's worth, is that the politicians will get a deal done by Tuesday at the latest and that will send stocks up sharply. Then follow-up articles will be talking about the true magnitude of the problem which makes the market give back some gain. How much? Depends on whether the politicians develop some workable ideas or whether they are content to see the USA become a banana republic.

As for me, on Tuesday I return to a place of peace and contentment with no computer access. And will be gone for about three weeks.

Peace and Tranquility be with you always. But for those three weeks, may it seem like heaven !

I'm back from the hermitage, have the RV unpacked and made the round of my doctors. Now it's time to get to the important stuff!

First of all, a very belated thanks to my favorite bear for his good wishes. Right back atcha', Squale!

And here is my latest table on the TSP analogs.

For any newbies, I use SPY for C Fund, IWM for S Fund, EFA for I fund and AGG for F Fund. Sadly, I have found no good analog for G Fund. Also, keep in mind that "Volume Buzz" can either be a negative or positive thing.

And I included the column on dividends because of a fleeting thought. I wonder if our beloved TSP Board credits the TSP accounts with their dividend earnings. Ya think?? ;P

Here's a side by side comparison of what the TSP fund analogs are doing. The lines are the 18 and 45 day moving averages. And the bottom indicator is the money stream.
