Squalebear's Account Talk

SB, Birch and L2R are both right on with my understanding of the term "evergreen" and it's likely TSP implications. The contracts I write have a default term of 10 years unless there are extenuating circumstances, and they have that long a term because of the logistics of the contracts.

EW-Ret corrected me as to the BGI contract...Wells Fargo was the investment manager during the early years. BGI has had it for the past 12 years. Mea culpa...but I got my information from FRTIB and TSP....:notrust:

Thanks everyone!! So because of the type of work being Contracted out,
it wouldn't make sense to limit the time period to a shorter term. Thus, the
contract was set up to cover years of responsibility. "Evergreen" has
a new meaning for me now.

Wish my Portfolio was "Evergreen" ! :) Oooops, Forever-Green :)

Not much of a bounce today, but I'll take it and I've now made my full exit to G. Sitting on the sidelines isn't much fun, but I've been busy this week, so I need to catch up on my reading, re-evaluate the charts, and look for my next entry point.

I made .67% this month, it might not seem like much but that's after the -1.34% hit I took in early July. I never invested more then 50% so I'm happy with my results. I'm still ahead of CSI so I'll call this one a winning (but licking my wounds) month... :cool:

As I wrote yesterday, upward movemnet within the O/D Tracker is good
and down is bad. Today the (I) Fund underperformed the EFA which was
in positive territory at closing. The (I) ended with a loss. The key shows
the overpayment in the "Medium" area. For those already in the (I) Fund,
your hoping for a move back up to the "High" area before pulling the plug.
For those waiting for a better entry point, it still has room to move down.
But during the month of July, we haven't seen back-to-back "Low" days.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND !

MONTH - TO - DATE
(C) -1.58%
(S) -1.81%
(I) -3.26%
(F) -0.75%

You should be very happy with your return when comparing it to the
(C), (S), (I) and (F) for the same month. (mentioned above). For you
to pull out a smaller loss ,,, or ,,, even a gain of +0.67% is great.
CONGRATULATION ! LETS DO BETTER IN AUGUST TOGETHER !

Thanks SqualeBear :)

I hasn't realized I'm currently beating all the funds this month. That makes me feel so much better. And yes, let's take August and give it a swift Azz kickin!!! I can't wait to get our IFTs back... :D

Thanks SqualeBear

Easy my young Padawon, I've felt those feelings every month since April.
In July, if I had been a little more patient before using my first IFT, I might
have been able to take advantage of that 5.54% pop that we saw from
July 16th thru July 23rd. Instead, I got forced back to the (G) to avoid
loses that the market had prior to the pop. So don't be so hungry to use
that IFT unless you see the entry point your looking for. IMHO. ;)

Geeez, I should practice my own advice more often ! :toung:

Hope Everyone Had A Great Weekend ! ;)

Almost swallowed my temporary Crown (can't chew on one side now, waiting for dentist to get my permanent crown), Roof has a few ridge caps missing due to recent wind (pending repair), one of the springs on the garage door snapped in two (pending repair)..Outside rear view mirror failed on my Hummer (fixed Saturady at dealers)...So yeah, other than that had a great weekend:sick:

So yeah, other than that had a great weekend

Ok, lets breaks this down;
Dental Crowns = Pretty Teeth
Roof = Home
Garage = Toy Storage
Hummer = Toy

Gee, I would too if I had all your stuff !
Can I play with some of your toys !

Mom, Buster won't share ! :nuts:

Ouch, The Market looks "ILL" right now.
Maybe after 12 noon, it will show its feeling better !
By 2pm at the latest, or this could get really ugly !
:confused:

:worried:I'm not holding my breath for a post 2:00 pm uptick; the results at the 2:30 close of the oil market today is not going to lead to happy investor jumping into stocks, I don't think....

I wouldn't hold my breath either. Something about the way the day
started makes my gut feel a bit queezy. Either I need Pepto or this
is another start of a consistent downward spiral to 1210 :(

IMO energy sector prices are at the "buy level" so ... big boys money out of stocks into commodities again, and into oil stocks to bring them back up for a selloff next week or even sooner. Financials and oils still manipulating...and lots of frantic meetings with SEC about speculation regulation. Getting their licks in while they can.

This is a scary market right now. You get the feeling it is barely holding on. There is a lot of selling going on right now. One would think it would be a buyers market but that is not happening. Got that feeling the dow could drop below 10000 again.

Good afternoon everyone :)

I hope everyone is safely tucked away in G because I'm hoping the market spends this week tanking so I can buy more shares...

Good afternoon, My first post but my sentiment is that we are heading much lower as in 10,000 or blow on Dow so I see no need to be anywhere but G fund until we hit close to bottom and see which fund looks most oversold then move 50 % there.

Best of Luck, Dave

Penetrated 1245ish, should be interesting to see how the day ends. :cool:

Well lots of folks are predicting a downturn for the longer term. This includes Larry Summers from Harvard on CNBC today. Very interesting guy. His words basically mirrored everything both Tom and Option have been saying. I think I'll head to G for a while....hate to...but I'm down just a smidge for the year. I'll just wait around for another buying opportunity. GL to all.:D:D:D
