Squalebear's Account Talk

A Final Thought For Today: There are just over 50 members who are
fully participating in this rally. With a total of 193 members listed. Thats
a quarter of the membership and I can't help but think that the numbers
would be so much higher without the FRTIB's interference. I'm over the
anger and have been for some time. I was one of the "insideous" ones
who ignored their warnings to the end and paid the penalty for my belief
that we deserved the right to manage our money as WE saw fit. Now, it
just makes me sick and I wanted to get this off of my chest ! :sick:

On a positive note: I couldn't be more happier for those who time the
current rally with Professional Accuracy (intended or not)! Congrat's
and kick some TSP butt for me ! ;)

Fellow "insideous" one,

I couldn't agree more.

CB

I think everyone agrees it's a stupid rule.
If I want to make good and bad investment choices, you have to give me the tools to fix the bad choices before they are magnified by something out of my control. Their stated goal was to reduce operating cost of the TSP. (Objective Not Met, Bad Rule, Fix It)

Thanks CB, I know many of us are still out there. I'll never forget the efforts
made by James and approximately 300 other individuals. It was a battle
worth fighting and I think it still is. But fighting the FRTIB is like fighting
the FED. But I'll leave these thoughts to the original thread.

By the way, did I mention your one of the EVIL ones. That means that
everytime you hear someone going "LONG" it hold a whole new meaning
for us. :nuts:

Exactly, WF ! But I won't hold my breath, even at these depths ! :toung:

Scratch and claw SB, scratch and claw.
A couple of years from now we'll be talking about the BAD old days.:)

"Maybe we can get alittle love back, out of this puppy come 4:20pm"
The Fund Managers opt to cut the Deficit in half today which lead
to alittle Love by outperforming the EAFE Index. From what I saw
today was nothing shy of a rollercoaster. But the Bear Market rally
continued and the (I) Funders are now above the (S) and (C) Funds
on a Month-To-Date basis. Today, the (I) Fund closed +1.49% while
the EAFE closed up +0.51% and the EFA closed up +1.54%.
Best of Luck on Thursday.;)

The Fund Managers lower the Deficit and
to keep it within the "Black" area of the
O/D Tracker. Just a little "sugar" but the
(I) Fund continues to disapoint when
compared to the (C) and (S) Funds. :blink:

S&P 500: Time To Take A Break?

The market has successfully crossed above 2 resistance trendlines that stretch back to the 2002-03 Tech Bubble Crash and above 2 moving averages, the 90-day today by just a hair. But the next hurdles are significant.

First, the Index is resting on what would have been the apex of the symmetrical triangle that it broke below in February. While it made a V-shaped recovery from the decline, the apex often is a place where it could stall.

The next hurdles to cross (the trendlines at 893 and 985) and the 180-day and 300-day moving averages are leagues away (7& and 18%, respectively). The market will, in all likelihood need to take a rest before attempting that assault.

The (L) FUNDS should not be treated as if they are similar to the
(C)-(S)-(F) or (I) Funds. In order to give a good demonstration
of what the (L) Fund does, here's a sample;

If you had $1000 in your account and put 10% in all
the (L) Funds you would have allocated the following
dollar amounts into the (G) Fund come APRIL 2009;

(L)Income=74.0%--->$74.00 to (G)--->$26.00 to Risk Funds= $100
(L)2010=66.25%---->$66.25 to (G)--->$33.75 to Risk Funds= $100
(L)2020=33.00%---->$33.00 to (G)--->$67.00 to Risk Funds= $100
(L)2030=20.12%---->$20.12 to (G)--->$79.88 to Risk Funds= $100
(L)2040=09.12%---->$09.12 to (G)--->$90.88 to Risk Funds= $100

Total Dollars in the (G) Fund would equal = $202.49 or 20.249%
This (G) Allocation could be accomplished by selecting the (L)2030
at 100%. In fact, all the Risk Funds are distributed in the same way
in each of the (L) Funds, but at different percentages. I can't see
how anyone can use the (L)'s for diversification purposes, when its
so difficult to know what's allocated in the (G) Fund, let alone how
much money is at risk. To me, the philosophy goes directly against
the (L) Funds design. To make this even more complicated, the (L)
Funds are rebalanced on a daily basis AND their Allocations will be
changed on a Quarterly basis. I wrote this in order to help others
understand what the (L) Fund should or shouldn't be used for.
(especially the young pups out there, just learning). :)

I'LL MAKE A COPY OF THIS WITHIN THE (L) FUND THREAD TOO ! ;)

Nasa,

Slow night at the Big House and blessed for it !
Opportunity knocked and I'm always looking for
opportunities ! You have yourself a memorable
weekend and smell the roses on the way ! ;)
