More chart stuff.

The US market is better.

1. The TRAN is chugging downward to the 200 sma and I would not mind it happening as it would be a great relief to set us up for the next leg up.
2. The EMW or S fund plunged hard right through the lower BB. The 50 sma is within reach and the 200 would give it more head room for a great rally.
3. The SPX or C fund is showing the best respect and manners to all ranges and support levels. It dropped like a rock but totally respected the BB. Impressive!

Re: Don't fall in love with the downside and keep emotions out of it.

The pull back has come and gone, my regret was that I did not look at the EFA or I fund the day of the pull back and notice the massive gap down, support at the 200 sma and position outside the lower BB. That would have been a SWEEEEET dead cat bounce play that would have paid off like a lotto ticket.

I would prefer to stay put as the C and S funds are nearing their top rapidly and the TRAN has not even crossed the 50 sma. Ewwww. My concern is a double top to I want to see it make higher highs with a few days confirmation. I might play the seasonality and the rest of the points to the top and then take the rest of the month off. This week will be in the upper 70's all week.

Re: Don't fall in love with the downside and keep emotions out of it.

I'm baaack, as you can see from my last post before this one I felt I missed the boat. Now I really feel it. My UVXY got creamed after a reverse split..........ohh the agony.

I'm likely going to take the spring/summer off or at the very least be very intermittent in my presence and trading. This is my busy time, youngest is on three baseball teams, track team, and my beekeeping is in full swing with more colonies than is considered to be a hobby by my standards. Next project is we are buying a small herd of Boer goats to keep us entertained, that and landscaping is in full swing. Only reason I'm here is it is cold and windy out this morning and I'm not feeling it right now. And we rescued a puppy that just happen to come to us with Parvo, nothing in this world is FREE. Not even the FREE Boxer puppy that has cost me $250 plus dollars in Vet bill to treat Parvo and we have only had her two weeks. Ever had to hydrate a puppy that can not take anything orally..........................it is a experiance.

The animal rescue business will break you. Financially and Emotionally. I could handle it better if occasionally they would let me shoot the abusers.:D
Good luck with the goats. FYI: Goats and lanscape do not coexist.

I'll miss your charts and succinct but shrewd comments on them. With all you've got going on, I can understand that you'd need a break from this place. Take care!

Re: Don't fall in love with the downside and keep emotions out of it.

The goats are needed to keep his roof vegetation trimmed - there is a restaurant chain that does that. It's a small business venture to rent out goats.

Hey, it's not 'sell in May and go away' yet. :)

My son didn't decided not to play baseball his senior year. I'm half disappointed, half relieved. It frees up a lot of time for me, but I'll miss it. Sitting in clubs watching his band isn't the same as taking in the sun at a game.

Enjoy your summer!

Your son exchanging baseball for his rock band? That does'nt sound to promising.. Enjoy anyway!!

Amen! We have 5 rescue cats and now the pup. Latest rescue cat, Arlo, cost me $130 last weekend to treat his infected ears from mites and have his boyz cut off. He is semi-wild and when the Vet asked me to step in the exam room I declined and told him he was on his own. That got his attention because I have vetted with this guy for many years. Soooo he takes Arlo to the surgery room in case he gets the best of them. Good choice.

We build damn good fences in Missouri. lol

Tom,

I'm not done just a little A.D.D. right now, too many irons in the fire. Puppy and landscaping till dark tonight. Puppies have a lot of energy............

Been awhile.

Dollar is finding support and getting ready for a rally, bad for I fund.

EFA is finding resistance at the 50 sma and the upper BB is rocketing down and going not help. The BB can turn quicker than the Titanic but not on a dime.

FTSE and DAX are both up against the 50 sma.

Upper BB, double top, go away in May............................

TRAN, is treading water and not making new highs. Weak...........................go away in May.

Just the way I see it, could go higher but there is a bunch of crap to push through first..................good night.

The dollar triggered a H&S pattern and if it fully plays out we may see some serious upside in all the markets. If it fails... well, you get the idea.

There is a lot of weakness showing in many charts, but that has never stopped Big Ben from pushing things up.

My thought is that they will let the markets do what ever now, but start pushing it up come late September into October...

ADP numbers are tomorrow, could be interesting. Friday is non-farm payroll numbers... oh, boy :D

Charts and risk.

I have some time this evening, so..........................

The C fund is out of the channel and has put in a lower high. BB are heading down and the 50 sma seem to be giving her some flack or resistance.

spx.png

The S fund looks like it could be weakening with a round top or you could see a three month long head and shoulders pattern, but we do not have the leader TRANS or the S&P to back it up. The 50 sma has been beating up the S fund. I'm very cautious here.

emw.png

The TRANS is a mess, it doesn't look like it's breaking down, more like a consolidation. It's a mess, looking for direction.

tran.png

The I fund looks like it has a round top with conformation from the FTSE and DAX. Elections in Europe folks.

efa.png

The UUP dollar index bounced right off of the 200 sma, picture perfect. It has room to run if the mes in Europe goes bad, elections that is.

uup.png

To sum it up, I'm avoiding risk right now. Avoiding risk can hurt your bottom line if you're wrong, but if your right..................:D

Re: Charts and risk.

To me , it seems that we are in a side-wases channel. UP down, Up down!

Re: Charts and risk.

nnuut: you are probably absolutely correct.... the trend is kind of 50-50 the cycle and the season are not sycronized... and the news goes both ways... so enjoy the roller-coaster... but at this moment.. it seems we are going down for few days... and then back up for few other ones... :)

Re: UN warns world lacks food

I have broadened my horizons and I was happier when I was blissfully ignorant. I believe the Republic died and painful death at the time they amended the Constitution to allowed non land owners the ability to vote and took the power away from the States to elect Senators. JMO All men are created equal but develop differently through childhood on their away to adulthood. Just say'n..............

I'm on course to get a demerit......................

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"

Plato's five regimes..............

Democracy then degenerates into tyranny where no one has discipline and society exists in chaos. Democracy is taken over by the longing for freedom. Power must be seized to maintain order. A champion will come along and experience power, which will cause him to become a tyrant. The people will start to hate him and eventually try to remove him but will realize they are not able.

Mob rule
Plato's the Republic presents a critical view of democracy through the narration of Socrates: "Democracy, which is a charming form of government, full of variety and disorder, and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequaled alike."In his work, Plato lists 5 forms of government from best to worst. Assuming that the Republic was intended to be a serious critique of the political thought in Athens, Plato argues that only Kallipolis, an aristocracy led by the unwilling philosopher-kings (the wisest men) is a just form of government.
