Re: UN warns world lacks food

Democracies never make the right austerity choices because the people that the leaders serve are voters too. No one is willing to make great sacrifice, not the politician looking to get another term, not the company that lobbies Congress, not the taxpayer and not the citizen who whats to continue their lifestyle. Let's put it off until the next election cycle.............................oh what we are always in a election cycle.

Sound grim but our history keeps repeating, repeating, repeating, repeating.................................

Common sense is not that common.

OK. Maybe I was being a little too idealistic. Still don't think USA can be put on a par with Greece economic outlook-wise though. We won't and we shouldn't, but we could eliminate the deficit by cutting Defense alone.

Re: The trend is your friend!

Interesting day today news wise, but filter out the news and go to the charts and you get a clear picture.

Check out the TRAN, retesting and still basing on the 20 dma. Is it ready to go higher?

The EMW is basing and consolidating. Is it ready to go higher?

Here is the conundrum. If I buy today I burn my last IFT and there is no guarantee that we will not go lower. If I don't I could miss the next push up. No matter how I play this I am at risk. I'm at risk being in the market and these high levels and possibly going lower, or much lower. I'm at risk not being in the market and missing the next push up. The limited IFT is very limiting. If I had the additional IFT I would ladder into a 75% S fund position right now and wait for conformation to risk the other 25%.

Re: UN warns world lacks food

Well, as I awake this morning to my steaming cup of coffee, I read Toms comments, I watch the news and the futures look like crap. Sell off Friday is haunting me and the Greek tragedy is still playing out. As I sit here the news is reporting that one of the more radical conservative Greek parties was quoted saying that he could not accept the current deal for the Greek people. All of that and the fact that we are pushing up on resistance on the S&P.

Today might be bring a drink to work day.

Re: UN warns world lacks food

Just woke up to my steaming cup of coffee as well... thanks for the heads up. Even though I'm in "G," I will pass on clicking on the boob tube and watching the Euro soap opera play out. So, what kind of bottle do you keep in your desk drawer? :D

Re: UN warns world lacks food

Now to figure out where Uptrend's 1260-1290 is on that daily seasonality chart.....Feb 17th?

Re: Don't fall in love with the downside and keep emotions out of it.

Well what can you do? This could be a burp or it could be vomit if Parliament does not pass the austerity package Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Conspiracy theory: Who paid the radical right wing politician to publicly balk and who shorted the heck out this market?.........................................

Re: Don't fall in love with the downside and keep emotions out of it.

Now this is a pretty picture, dropped down to the 200 sma and has a nice gap to fill. Wish I had some EXTRA IFT.

I think I'll watch how this goes Monday and Tuesday just out of curiosity. Greece makes me way too nervous to even think about going into the I fund at this point though!
