As far as the upcoming labor news, it could go either way. The .gov is famous for cooking the books.

I have studied the STA and February is a horrible month only better than September.

I am tempted to say because it looks like we could go to the 50 or at least 20 dma. Before the President Day holiday.

Today was wild, what a reversal into the green. Are you seeing the bottoming tail with 200 dma support on the EFA/I fund chart.

From an historical perspective an 80 level dollar has always meant a stronger economy and a stronger equity market. That may not include outperformance for the I fund.

News trumps technicals. The way the market ended yesterday, everything was looking up. But the SPX is now back in the box. Unless the market can end above the box, we'll probably see more downside next week. My problem is that I won't be able to get back in until next month.

It's a tough spot to be in when we are in two channels at the same time. My guess is folks won't want to be invested over the 3 day weekend due to dropping shoes.

If nothing drops over that time, they may all pounce in on Tuesday with an exhastive high, but it's just a guess...

Frekin IFT limits always find a way to screw with you.

Personally I use a risk matrix to make decisions on my IFT's. Time to target (Retirement date) is part of the matrix. I know it sounds ugly but losing 5-10% short term value is only important if you plan on using it soon. I'm not a stead fast B&H. If I can catch it right I'm on it like a dog on a bone. Who does not like extra shares.
