Rod's Account Talk

Sold QBTS for a small (-1.63%) loss @ 15.95. It dropped beneath VWAP. Therefore, I did not want to ride it down further. It's my first "day trading" loss in months. But, you can't win'em all, and you must be willing to take small losses so they don't turn into huge losses. Manage them well.

God Bless! :)

Bought QBTS @ 16.29. I'm taking the risk because QBTS shot up to 16.45 after I sold at a loss @ 15.95. Therefore, I am hoping for an afternoon bounce. Although my intention is to day trade it, that could turn into a swing/spec trade.

God Bless! :)

I sold @ 16.29 and some change, essentially breaking even. Only a 0.05% gain. 😁

God Bless! :)

Going forward, I will post any trade updates at the end of the day. This will help to consolidate any and all trades into one post.

God Bless! :)

You’re gonna get tired of winning

Although I do execute day trades on occasion, what helps is that I am more of a swing trader without setting any stops. If I find myself stuck in a trade, I simply wait it out and then average down as needed. Depending on the situation, I will accept a loss- like I did with QBTS on 30 May. The trades that I don't mind being red on are my speculative trades, such as AMC.

A few years ago I recall being down around $50K on an AMZN swing. It eventually turned into a winning trade because I knew it would recover in due time. In June of 2021, during the AMC/GME short squeeze, within an hour or so I went from being down on AMC +25K to being up +50K... all within the timeframe of about an hour.

I'm sure to have future losses, but I believe the reason that I keep them to a minimum is that I am never stopped out of a losing trade. As of today, my win rate is 88.90%, with 252 round trip trades. Of those 252, 224 were green trades. This is since Aug 2020. That averages 50 trades a year. So, as you can see, I don't trade as often as some might think.

My YTD is +16.43%.

God Bless! :)
