What happened to: Republican plan to cut Federal Workers, Pay, Retirement

I looked for the thread on the other site. Could not find it. Did the thread die or am I just unable to find it?

Just a thought, there should be an easy to find thread that deals with federal pay and benefits issues. This willlikely be a popular topic with this crowd. It was difficult for me to find this issue on either site.

Re: What happened to: Republican plan to cut Federal Workers, Pay, Retirement

I made some personal jabs on the above referenced thread. No excuse for that. My bad.

I am quite happy with my current pay structure.

Re: What happened to: Republican plan to cut Federal Workers, Pay, Retirement

Thanx for the link...Now I just wish I could see into the future and figure out "who" will be the ones who get the ax ....I do no one thing is certain, they will not start from the top then work down. No no no SIR..They will definately start at the bottom.

My agency has added so many new management and salaried positions in the last few years...Heck they started a new department about 3 years ago, then found out that the managers they hired basically stunk so they wanted to get new managers, what did they do you ask?, they just promoted about 10 new "managers" and the old managers they just shuffled to other departments to shuffle papers all day long while making about 80 big ones a year to do it, so go figure......

Found it, Allfishegg - go to the bottom of this Appropriation Commitee page for link to the proposed budget cuts. Unfortunately not by department, it's by sub-commitee bill

http://appropriations.house.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressReleases.Detail&PressRelease_id=256

Should be interesting.

Agriculture/FDA cut by 14%.
Justice dept and Commerce cut by 16%
and the Transportation Dept cut by 17%.

No doubt that's not a paring knife, that's definitely a meat cleaver.

German U-Boat Captains called it the 'Happy Times'.

I hope the Democrats can get the knife to the DOD as well.

There is so much fat the animal will not even know its been cut.

Re: What happened to: Republican plan to cut Federal Workers, Pay, Retirement

Oh its already on its way. I joined the army during wartime, while they were (openly) in serious need of people for future ops. Now theyre talking about cutting 50,000 soldiers along with wage freezes.
Meanwhile, theyre still concentrating on 3 new camo patterns, more rugged boots, new titanium M240 machine guns, and smart phones for every soldier.
This isnt a rant....just my observation of how this gov operates as smooth as a monkey f*'ing a football.
"The far side" should do a comical analogy of congress on the NYSE yelling - Hire! Hire! Hire! (15 minutes later), Fire! Fire! Fire!

your comments are spot on! All of us can concurr to this, but there within lies the problem, because if we all honestly told the horror stories of mis-management and waste and non-compliance of those Bed-Rock standards of a federal employee.. Maybe this needs its own thread!

More details on exactly what the republicans propose to cut in the continuing resolution in March:

Some big things being cut.

Looks like some things are getting more money than planned in 2010?
Can you explain the columns so I know what iam looking at? Unless Im mistaken looks like EPA is just getting more money not less. No I dont work there but EPA should be getting cut IMO.
