Wow, only on page 4... I guess folks are too busy to update their account talk threads...

I just wanted to stop by to thank the person that signed up for SaveUp, I hope it helps you like it has helped me. You might also try Mint as that is a fantastic site for your financial management.

Well, I have stopped by.

Have a great month!!

So, no fear in the markets, markets at all time highs...

"The markets will NEVER go down" - QE inflation will eventually be the downfall of the markets...

I hope everyone is doing well, have a fantastic Thanksgiving and a Blessed Christmas!!

Good to hear from you sport. Take a look at Ross's S&P chart going back to 1995 - that's our future for those staying long.

... yes, and don't forget to ignore the parts of the chart where the market goes down 30-40%, time and time again. After all, history never repeats itself.

Truly disgusting how there is no fear in the markets... Everyone is expecting the Fed to hold the market up forever... Sorry, I don't believe that...

Maybe we will see 2000 by years end (I didn't think we would see 1800)... :p

Good luck BT, I know you will buy until you die...

FWIW our current super cycle mega trend secular bull market is going to last for decades - you just have to think ahead. History from 1982 is going to repeat and yes I'll buy all the way up until the NYSE says hold up there senior. Consolidations along the path to righteousness will be welcomed and provide even more opportunity for those hoofhearted team players. Once the Liar in Chief is finally STFU the economy will be unshackled and growth for everone will resume.

This action is one reason why I like the trend trading theory that basically says, do what the market is telling you to do, regardless of what you think should happen. But I have to admit that I don't live by that myself and find myself trying to pick tops and bottoms. When it works out, it's great. But most of the time I am missing much of the rally or buying way too soon.

The fed is screwing us up right now but the trend traders are loving it. Unlike BT, trend traders will make money on the way down once the trend is pointing down - but they won't sell the top.

Here are some interesting quotes from notable traders / investors...

“It is one of the great paradoxes of the stock market that what seems too high usually goes higher and what seems too low usually goes lower.” – William O’Neil

“When asked if there was a technique for making money on the stock exchange, Nathan Rothschild said, “There certainly is. I never buy at the bottom and I always sell too soon.” – William O’Neil

“Only a fool holds out for the top dollars,” said Joe Kennedy, one-time wall street speculator and the father of former President John F. Kennedy. The object is to get out while a stock is up, before it has a chance to break. Gerald M. Loeb states, ” Once the price has risen into estimated normal or overvaluation areas, the amount held should be reduced steadily as quotation advance.” (At this point it’s all right to ask yourself, “Why didn’t I sell when it was going up and looked so strong?”)” — William O’Neil

“Another thing to bear in mind is this: Never try to sell at the top. It isn’t wise. Sell after a reaction if there is no rally.” – Jesse Livermore

Talking about no fear in the market - I'm scared shirtless but still have the courage to throw dollars onto the tracks. I'm just staying on the Grand Trunk until the band stops playing. I've reached the point where money making is unstopable - it's not my fault. But I will accept my rewards. Be in to win.
