Well, now that there is some upswing, I am thinking about taking some of my money out of longs and going short since I really think the news this afternoon will cause another drop...

Nope, still long. I have resigned to being an investor for awhile, unless signs point to another tanking of the market. Maybe this is consolidation (big swings though) and we will be coming out at some point?

I haven't read it yet to understand why the calculation is the way it is. My main issue is that the calc is done after closing so current day should be used, which then makes it a 6 day ROC, et al. Just my 2 cents. I will probably read it this week-end if my honey-do list isn't too long.

Current day closing IS used. You are subtrating the previous 5 days from today...Anyway, the analysis was done by Appel, the creator of the MACD so I didn't question it.

I've been moving up on the autotracker while still losing money for the last three days. Probably moved up over 160 spots. I'm now within about 25 of you. I think I am actually beating the s fund now.:nuts:
