PUI!

Well, everybody knows what this weekend is....Yep, you got it. An opportunity to PUI! So while you are enjoying your beer and spirits this weekend, stop by often and PUI!

Ah. Here it is. Took a while to find it. Everyone's on the wagon? Good deal. The only thoughts in my head right now:

I don't usually like ale's but Alaskan Amber is tha best

I missed all of you

The darkness caught up with me-used to light until about 10 PM. Still got pool work to do. Someone remind me, do you take a breath before or after you go under the surface?

Uh Oh! Better wait a 1/2 hour after that Alaskan Amber settles, that's some good kaka! I'm having a Longboard Pale Ale from our local brewery - Kona Brewing Co. I have a 3 day weekend ahead of me and loving life!

Before.
I like Moosehead. Have some on hand next time.:D

Back in the day (80s, yeah. yeah I know) my brother and I were driving around northern NH and ran out of beer. IIRC we were driving a 66 C-10 long bed. Beautiful truck, clunked every time you changed the torque on the drive train. Had a current inspection sticker so all is OK.

We stopped at a mom and pop place and mentioned the price of the Moosehead. The proprietor claimed it took a lot of men to get the moose to **** in the bottle, in a wonderful northern NH accent. I paid being the rich, single E-5. Shows what the pay scale in NH was then.

Ugggh! You just ruined my beer!

Whad the market do today? It didn go down again did it?

WAIT! ...what day is it? :p

Kevin, I think the S&P closed at 1376 today. Or maybe it was 376. It doesn't matter to me at his point. Got 1/2 in C and rode it down. I should at least get it back by the time I retire in '17 or '18. Maybe.

My ramblings elsewhere this evening had me remembering a friend who became a mail carrier. He walked his route carrying a big bag. It looked like leather but was big. This was in the early 70s. Later he was allowed to drive one of those right hand drive jeeps to the neighborhood but still had to go door to door with the bag. Do you or any of the USPS people around here remember those days? How is mail handled now for those who have "mail slots" in their doors?

Like the avatar. Bet the local officials didn't like it.

We only have one route that has any "walking." We call that "park and loop." It's an apartment complex that still has boxes at their doors. The boxes are hung on the wall by the door though...no slots that I have ever delivered to.

Interesting. I am going to have to ask some of the people I still know back in the old hood if mail is still thrust through the slot in the door. Those slots were always interesting to me as a paperboy. Some wanted the paper folded so it was stiff enough to thrust deeply in to the slot. Others wanted it thrown between the storm door and door to keep it out of the elements. NO ONE would put up with me riding down the street on my bike throwing papers randomly at lawns/driveways like you see in movies.

The last route I had in California was a park and loop route. This was a small beach community and the homes were built in the 50's and 60's. All the mail slots were on the front doors and big enough to only push in the letters. I had to drop the flats on the ground or in a designated spot the customer arranged. I hated those small slots - my hands were always cut trying to cram the mail through. I loved it when I had a nasty customer and their dog would come barking and growling on the other side of the door and play tug of war with me... with the owners monthly check! HA! SHREDDED! oops, did I just say that? :D
