Presidential Debate (15OCT08)

Obama has a good presence when he addresses the camera. McCain addresses the moderator. Not sure which is more "right".

That's something Obama has in spades. When he speaks, you feel like he's speaking directly to you. McCain has trouble connecting, he comes off as boring and forgetful.

Ideas aren't going to win this election. Fact is America is tired of having a President who can't speak well in public and this is a huge disadvantage for McCain.

My insurance is much more expensive than $5k/yr. I can associate with what Obama is saying here about the cost limitations in McCain's plan.

Obama says fine is $0 for small businesses that cant afford to pay insurance to employees. Reverse McCain attack (again).

Sharp, quick observations, ChemEng. I'm not that quick.

BTW, Obama got a little positive blip from the male voters when he talked about Joe Biden.

What is a "refundable tax credit"? He's said this in every presidential debate, but Im not sure what it means.

Im sure the insurance companies love Obama's health plan. Millions of more people have access to it means a lot more money in their pockets even if the cost is reduced.

Obama has a good presence when he addresses the camera. McCain addresses the moderator. Not sure which is more "right".

McCain tries to associate Obama with Herbert Hoover? Im curious how many people in the country even realize Hoover was a president.

Heres the format of the debate:
McCain attacks Obama. Obama responds with facts and details of some plan.

McCain needs to tell more about what his position is instead of wasting time attacking. It looks desparate and unPresidential.

Obama's response about oil is country based and includes a time frame (10 years). He has a much more formalized energy plan based on the response between the 2.

Interesting McCain response--target is producing country based, not a number based. Not a bad idea for a start.

They both are coming across as respectful towards each others VP. Its about time they realize that one of them will be President and one will be VP.

Obama is calling McCain on some of his economic funding questions that other debates have left been left open.

0--Should have gone with the under. Forgot that Palin wasn't talking. She's the one that uses Maverick every other word, not McCain.
