Presidential Debate (15OCT08)

Sharp, quick observations, ChemEng. I'm not that quick.

BTW, Obama got a little positive blip from the male voters when he talked about Joe Biden.

Obama says fine is $0 for small businesses that cant afford to pay insurance to employees. Reverse McCain attack (again).

My insurance is much more expensive than $5k/yr. I can associate with what Obama is saying here about the cost limitations in McCain's plan.

Obama has a good presence when he addresses the camera. McCain addresses the moderator. Not sure which is more "right".

That's something Obama has in spades. When he speaks, you feel like he's speaking directly to you. McCain has trouble connecting, he comes off as boring and forgetful.

Ideas aren't going to win this election. Fact is America is tired of having a President who can't speak well in public and this is a huge disadvantage for McCain.

McCain really sounds out of touch with this "spreading the wealth around" comments. Recent Reuters report said that the effective tax rate of US large businesses is 0%. My tax rate is much higher.

I don't know to whom McCain refocuses his eyes on but it looks like he is looking away all of the time to someone/someplace for validation.

Why wont insurance companies just move to the state that has the more preferrential treatment to their business? Like South Dakota with credit cards and New Hampshire with banks.

The Federal Government negotiates good terms with the Health Insurance Plans that are included in our choices. Private plans have less power. And don't you think the Insurance companies are in bed with each other to keep up premiums and reduce benefits!

Wrong. Popular vote should not be the tool that measures individual rights. The Constitution has mechanisms already in place about how to do that.

McCain was prepared with Obama's abortion vote history? That surprised me. I would have focused on other areas. Obama has a well spoken response to McCain's allegation. The heat, again, is diverted. Not sure McCain is the guy to get something to stick on Obama. The guy is TEFLON.

Softball education question--although its interesting the link to national security. Expect standard answers from both.

Nice plan. $4000/yr school credit in exchange for community or national service. Some countries already have something like that in place--even without the $4000 incentive.
