Open Letter to Thrift Investment Board

Thank you, thank you, thank you. IO am sending a copy of this in a letter to my Senators and Congresswoman, I have been wanting to contact them about these issues but I keep finding the work of cataloguing all of the problems daunting./ This does it for me.

I would suggest that everyone who cares about this do the same. A cover letter should take only about 10 minutes or so as opposed to many hours to doi what this open letter does so well.

I will try to remember this thread to report back on anything -- if anything -- I hear back.

Thanks again for posting this evilanne.

Two of my favorite quotes from the letter:

" It’s amazing that the cost of an F-35B aircraft is not a secret, but the cost of the FRTIB’s AFS contract is a secret? What are you ashamed of? It’s not like it’s a trade secret and you have competitors that will profit from this knowledge. Tell all of us how much the FRTIB spent on this failure."

"The entire website is unintuitive and riddled with inconsistencies. It truly looks like a high-school class project. The "old" website was concise, intuitive and data rich."

This letter is incredibly thorough and detailed. Complete breakdown of the loss of historical data and the unbelievable problems with the new site and having to redo the beneficiary, which of course, should never have been needed.

I didn't realize the costs of the funds had gone up so dramatically. I'm sure others have posted about this as one of the reasons they moved out of the TSP.

Big thanks evilanne

I can see I need to come back to visit more often! wow. I have yet to withdraw from my tsp, but the time comes very soon, assuming I don't run into difficulties along the way. I'm going to send this letter to reps also, with a cover letter. I will hold off til I find out how successful I am at pulling funds in a timely manner.

well, i ran into problems with website, even trying to put my banking information in so i could make withdrawal request. ran into inactive screen for data input. had to call direct to get my bank deposit information entered. first withdrawal attempt coming up next week.
