System stays LONG, nice to see small caps outperform today. I remain long TNA. Seems like the small caps are playing catch up, as they had the biggest decline of all the indices on the last dip. IWM/XLF stills have a ways to go to their Jan highs, meanwhile SPY is running into resistance at the double top. The QQQ is cruising, having taken out January's highs.
 
No change in plans since my last post outlining my strategy for it. It has declined more than what I wanted, but they have earnings this Thursday, so hopefully those are a catalyst to the upside. From a fundamental analysis perspective, the majority of the EDM festivals they organize run from the spring into the late summer, so you would think the stagnation in price should come to an end real soon as the majority of the country thaws out. Just have to be patient, position is small enough I am not worried about it.

I'm with you on this trade....please keep us posted what you do!...I will follow...
 
System remains LONG, but the underlying market strength appears to be weakening. It's hard to place confidence in the market action this week, as it is Options Expiration Week (OPEX), which is usually characterized by a lot of institutional game playing, often resulting in choppy price action. Hopefully those following along have taken partial profits at this point, as the trade was up as much as 13% (TNA) yesterday.
 
No changes to be had. The System was still on a BUY as of COB Friday. That may change quickly depending on the market action starting tomorrow. I'm not reading too much into the Ukraine ordeal right now; it's easy to let emotions cloud trading objectives when geopolitical events come into play. Commodities will inevitably rally, no coincidence that Russia stands to benefit from this as it holds one of the largest gold reserves in the world and is one of the preeminent suppliers of oil and natural gas.

Just an FYI, I will likely stop posting my signals here soon. My private trading endeavors are gaining ground and I am looking to add this strategy to some of my others. I can't justify adding a private system while it also remains open to the public. What I was really hoping for on here was an active thread with multiple members posting trade ideas and lessons. Instead, for the better part of 6 months, I have practically been the only one posting. This is nothing against the people on this forum, just not what I intended. I realize a lot of members on here are retired or close to being retired, so they have a lot of time on their hands. I am not in this predicament, and so my free time is hard to come by. Developing and running these strategies is time consuming, and I need to prioritize the time spent on them over time spent on the forum. I will at the minimum see this trade through until the next signal change.

Most people do not have any idea how much time it takes to track a system. And if you make a mistake, because you are in a hurry, they turn on you like a pack of wolves.

Oleg,

I, for one, am sorry to see you go...I've made some serious money with your NUGT/DUST calls, as well as on some XIV. Although I have no clue how "the process" works, have you given any thought to starting a premium service here ? Of course, it's Tom's web site, and you originally said you weren't interested in a premium service here...just wondering...you've certainly caught the interest of a number of investors, here on the Board !

A couple of comments : I hear what you're saying about being disappointed at the lack of discussion here...and I'm one of those retirees who has a lot of time on my hands ! :D However, I don't have enough knowledge, let alone a "system", to contribute anything meaningful to the discussion ! I rely on others on this Board to provide guidance to me in my investment decisions...

Also...in my brain, a Member's account thread is their "home"...a place for them to post their moves, systems, thoughts, gripes, holdings, wins, losses, and sometimes details about their love life :nuts: etc. Posting here is like being a Guest in your "home" ! Perhaps if the thread was started in one of the other Forums, like "Short Term Strategies", or "Longer Term Strategies", you would've gotten the results you were looking for...

Anyway...hope you keep posting your thoughts on your TSP and other investments occasionally...best of luck to you !

Ashamed to admit that I did not take advantage of this buy because another service that I follow has been on a sell. I should have just went to a cash or neutral position but I chose to go with the signal that hasn't panned out so far. I'm really starting to become a believer in these trending strategies. I understand your desire to move on but it would really be a big help to many of us if you would continue to post your trending system signals.

I'd dump that other service if I were you.
 
Perhaps you could do a weekly/monthly blog and talk about the things that interest you, all this could be done without posting signals, therby keeping your system from getting compromised.
