America is set to surpass Saudi Arabia in a 'remarkable' oil milestone

New York (CNN Business)Move over, Saudi Arabia. America is about to steal the kingdom's energy exporting crown. The United States will surpass Saudi Arabia later this year in exports of oil, natural gas liquids and petroleum products, like gasoline, according to energy research firm Rystad Energy.
That milestone, driven by the transformative shale boom, would make the United States the world's leading exporter of oil and liquids. That has never happened since Saudi Arabia began selling oil overseas in the 1950s, Rystad said in a report Thursday.
"It's nothing short of remarkable," said Ryan Fitzmaurice, energy strategist at Rabobank. "Ten years ago, no one thought it could happen."[more]

The gas stations around here must know when I'm going to need a fill up. :soapbox: For the last two weeks gas has slowly fallen to $2.27/gallon. Yesterday it jumped up to $2.69. What is going on with these 40 cent increases? Dang it!!!

It seems that way to me too. Gas was down to about the same a few weeks ago but by the time I needed to fill up was up to $2.50. Now $2.67 seems the average. Now that I'm retired I only use about 5 gal per month so far. In two weeks I get to drive to California where I get to buy at least one tank for $3.70 per gallon or more.

I managed to get in and out of CA last week only having to buy one tank at $3.899. So when I get back to AZ all prices are at about $3. Now it is averaging $3.099. Summer blend time?

Just before Easter gas around here jumped from $2.45 to $2.79 per gallon. Right now it is hovering around $2.65. Not sure how much gas will jump up with the BS going on around Iran and in June our gas tax jumps up another 11 cents per gallon.

The Energy Sector ETF is in an interesting position. After breaking down from a rising wedge recently, it is now testing some crucial support near 65.50. Lots of air underneath that.

The price of gas is jumping all over the place here on the North Coast. It is jumping around almost day to day. One will be at $2.49 and down the street another is at $2.79. Then the next day both will be around $2.65. This past week has been really goofy.

What is going on with gasoline???? On the way to work yesterday gas was as low as $2.36. What is happening???? AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oil prices surge after two tankers reportedly attacked near Strait of Hormuz

Crude oil prices surged Thursday, rebounding from a bruising prior session after reports that two oil tankers had been attacked in the Gulf of Oman, with fresh tensions in that region potentially posing a threat to global supplies.
West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery CLN19, +3.13% jumped $1.85, or 3.6%, to $52.98 a barrel, but has managed a session high thus far of $53.11 a barrel.
