Oil Slick Stuff

nnuut, is there still a requirement to make a post at some interval to keep from being dropped?

Well, if so, here is my post.

Oil = $150 a barrel by end of July. Gorrroneteed!
Yes. it will time out for no activity I can't remember the time limit, but I think it's around 10 minutes. $150 a barrel will get attention, without change in the US policies that can happen.

Could very well be because higher oil can be caused by a lower dollar, but I wouldn't count on it this time.

Gas up 25 cents in 2 days here... gotta love it, oh, "this is not the inflation you are looking for..."

Neither is my grocery bill going up about 20% over the last 6 months :(

This is pure speculation right now, and we're no where near the pump price that today's gasoline futures prices says it should be.

Here is the speculation runup for the last month or so:

The April futures prices are now up to $3.27 a gallon. On top of that, you have to add federal tax of $0.20 cents a gallon, plus state tax- (my state it's 20 cents a gallon, plus 6% sales tax), plus at least a dime for the distribution costs, before you get to the local station's markup of a nickle to a dime. So, for example, Michigan SHOULD have a pump price TODAY of about $4.00-$4.10 today. But we're still trailing the rise by at least a week or two. Gas is only $3.69 at the pump now. It should rise to $4.00 in the next two weeks just based on where gasoline futures are today.

I filled up on base today for $3.47/gallon. Okinawans pay ¥130/liter, which works out to $6.17/gallon. I'm not complaining.
