Oil Slick Stuff

I maybe misreading you..But yes, It would be cleaner..but it would not be any cheaper since you are buying more often to go the same distance..in fact, in the long run it would cost you more to run on LPG or CNG..with less power too I might add..

Anywho...Tonight I was clued in by my local neighborhood 7-11 to gas up, because they were fixin to raise the price another .12 tonight...This is really stupid!!!!!..we are gonna be right back where we were last summer when nobody could afford to drive..

And what are they blaming it on?????? The DRIVING SEASON has arrived!!
They sell more they should make more money, but Oil is everywhere how can they justify the price going up and up?

Here's some GOOD NEWS::laugh:

Chevron profits hit by weaker oil skull.gif

Chevron is the latest to see its profits dented by severe market conditions

Chevron, the second largest oil company in the US, has posted a sharp fall in quarterly profits, as the price of oil dropped from its peak. Net profit for the first three months of the year fell 64% to $1.84bn (£1.23bn) from a year earlier.
The price of crude oil has averaged less than $50 a barrel this year, down from a record high of $147 last July.
Production during the quarter rose slightly to the equivalent of 4.2 million barrels of oil per day.
Chevron shares were little changed in early trading as the drop in profit was not as bad as analysts had feared.
Earlier this week Exxon reported that its profits had fallen 58% in the same period.

You continue to pay the Arab Oil Shieks whether it's gasoline, diesel, CNG, or propane. You can continue to export billions of American dollars around the world, to nations that use the money in their own ways- from Saudia Arabia, to Venezualia, to Nigeria, all collecting billions from people like you....

Or.... you can choose to send your energy dollars to American Farmers, in the mid-west, who are developing new efficiencies in the production of an alternative fuel. Keeps the money at home. It's your choice.

Some say "Food not fuel!", while not recognizing that ethanol's byproduct is 75% of the corn continues to be used as "dried distiller's grain", and can be used for animal feed. And corn is now used in many ethanol plants to also produce corn oil. And corn production is up to record levels, while the government continues to pay farmers every year to take farm land OUT of production, as we have the ability to produce far more corn than we are doing right now.

Some say "It will drive the price of food higher.." , while not acknowleding that there is just 7 cents worth of corn in a box of corn flakes. And that today, corn costs a fraction of what it did even 30 years ago, while still providing BILLIONS of gallons of liquid sunshine clean burning fuel, that reduces carbon emissions by 19% over gasoline.

An electric car is still years away, and will cost the average consumer tens of thousand more than a gasoline powered vehicle. Not to mention most electricity in this country comes from dirty coal. There is no clean coal. Yet an ethanol flex-fuel car can run on either gasoline OR ethanol, and costs less than $100 more to design a car to use both fuels. Not tens of thousands of dollars more- less than $100 more.

And if OPEC decided to cut us off......if you own a flex-fuel car, you can simply switch over to ethanol all the time, and continue as if nothing ever happened.

Yes, I guess ethanol is the big evil.

Ethanol is Evil

I cannot help but worry about the Americans abusing the environment with corn ethanol ...

My fear is the Americans will cause great damage to air we breathe...

As I end my evening walk ..I see visions of land decimated by evilness of growing corn...and it frightens me so..

Don't these Americans realize how devastating Ethanol is?

I worry what the Americans Corn ethanol is doing to helpless animals of the world..

My Heart is heavy that the American corn ethanol will be the cause of many wars...

I worry about the American Soldiers sent hundreds of miles to protect the corn fields...

Last night, gasoline jumped another dime in my town. Now we're up to $2.25.

Remember $4.50 a gallon for gas?

When you pick your next car- buy one that can run on gasoline- OR ethanol.

YOU then get to make the choice where your money goes.

I don't know if Ethanol could be used 100% or even close to it; if alot we would be importing corn from abroad as other countries would switch products just to make money. It surely would help though! Beef, pork and chicken would also rise in price.

No, we can't do 100%.

But we can do a heck of a lot more than we are doing now.

E85 sales make up less than 1% of vehicle fuel sales. We have the capability TODAY to move that to 10% of vehicle fuel sales, if only people would do it. Many people who already own flex-fuel vehicles either don't know they own them, or can't find it at a station near them (there are now almost 2,000 stations, by the way- check out http://e85prices.com )

As for beef, pork, and chicken rising in price.......

E85 production uses ONLY THE STARCH from the kernal- not the rest. The rest is made into dried distiller's grain, which is used for animal feed. Increase the amount of DDG production, and you'll offset completely any change in price for corn.

Corn is now about $4 a bushel.

It takes 17 cents worth of corn to make a pound of chicken.

It takes 46 cents worth of corn to make a pund of beef.

It takes 7 cents worth of corn to make a large box of cornflakes.

Even if corn prices doubled (which they won't. When the price of corn went up last year, it was mostly because of the higher price of oil), it still costs only pennies for the production of food.

We EXPORT corn around the world. And every year, about a third of our corn crop goes to waste sitting in the field, or sitting on the ground, waiting to get used. We don't need to import any corn from anywhere.

We need to switch away from petroleum for everything.

A little ethanol

A little solar electric

A little wind energy

And poof- we start reducing those foreign imports.

A little bit at a time.

"A little bit at a time is the way to go"
It's getting really "CORNY" around here!!:)
Gas at Walmart this morning Up $.10 to $2.059, I love that discount.:nuts::nuts:

Actually there's a BIG plus you are leaving out. The U.S. has a huge supply of Natural Gas, and it can be drilled with less potential mess than oil from what I understand (contrary to popular belief there are reserves of natural gas that are NOT in the same places as oil reserves). Even though we will still be using petrochemicals for a while, as plastics and a lot of other man-made materials contain petroleum, we won't be stuck with OPEC's games.

At this point in time I have to agree with Jim..through even his sarcasim..But he's right, Corn byproducts after making ethanoil can be used for feed stock..no harm no foul there...Cars can be made to burn pure ethanoil as do many Draggsters at the race tracks do..they burn it cleanly and effeciently and still able to buzz down the tracks at lightening speeds..So YES to Ethanoil and Screw the stinking Arabs and OPEC..;)

Boy am I busy today, they are working me to death, hardly have time to get on line!!
SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR MONEY!!!

Oil falls first day in five on inventories expectations

By Moming Zhou, MarketWatch

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures fell Tuesday for the first session in five, pulling back from their highest level in more than five months on expectations that U.S. crude inventories have risen from their 19-year high last week.
The Energy Information Administration is scheduled to release the latest U.S. petroleum inventories Wednesday. Analysts surveyed by Platts expect a buildup of 2.2 million barrels. Limiting crude's losses, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the U.S. economy is bottoming out.

The spring survey of America's money managers conducted by Barron's finds that energy stocks are moving back into favor among investors. In responding to the question to pick the best and worst performing industry sectors for the next 6-12 months, energy was ranked third in the best category and second to last in the worst.

One money manager was quoted as saying he expects to see oil prices climbing back to $100 a barrel as a worldwide economic recovery spurs inflation and the Federal Reserve attempts in coming months to mop up all the liquidity it has pumped into the financial system. He characterized the challenge the Federal Reserve faces as "walking a tightrope," and he doesn't believe it has the dexterity to handle it. [more]

On the news tonight..they mentioned the reason for the recent spike in gas prices..Said it was due to the improvement and reviving of the economy...

Oh sure..has nothing to do with the price of oil anymore...I guess tomorrow it will be because, Horseshoe crabs are not being used for fish bait much anymore...Hell who knows..

Gas bumped up another .12 cents here last night- to $2.27

Petroleum.

They got you hooked.

Like heroin.

Break the habit.

Go CORN.

Conspiracy, it's rigged what else can it be?
I believe that Gas will be up to $3.50 - $4.00 a gallon in the summer, write that down somewhere. Obama has made it worse and it's part of his plan. We need to pay back the BAILOUTS, with our TAX MONEY. Double the price double the TAX!!

I've got my Tarot cards and Ouija board out for those oil prices.... All the Cards are face up, that' must mean UP, right? So why is the Ouija board spelling out, "fergitU"? :toung:
