nnuut's Account Talk

And contrary to popular belief, there is much more Butt Kissing going on in the Private Sector!!:toung:

But it seems to be more professional in the public sector while it is just politically correct in the government (sans our brethren in uniform)!

And I guess I am on old fart (military history buff on the first paragraph!)

Much easier to fire an employee in the Private Sector, if you don't put out you go!! That fact demands respect. Sometime you go even if you did a fine job, don't upset the BOSS!! Lets see how does it work in Civil Service, it depends where you work and who you work for, but it's really hard to get rid of a slacker.

Some good reasoning here:
HANDBOOK for 2010

Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2 Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4 Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy!
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2009 .
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile!

Personality:
11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don't overdo. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class
but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy!

I think I'll try doing more of these!!!:D

Still 100% "G".
Off to Lowes, STILL working in the MASTER BATH!!:D

Nutt,
Have any comments about oil prices? Not seeing it affect the prices at the pump to much here in my area, but this is one of the factors I am watching to see how the market reacts. Seems like as it inches up, its not a real big news maker, but in time it will be at $90 a barrel, maybe higher and it will have to start affecting the market I would think. (Well my thinking) I can just think back to the 08 timeframe.....oil up, market down.....
Its America and we are hooked on oil and will be for years... I know I am!!! which affects the way I spend money....as it does for many americans....... I hope it will stay in check
GL on that Remodel...sounds fun!!

Funny thing about Oil/Gas prices. Check out the dollar, usually dollar up Oil/Gas down. Cheaper Oil should be good for the economy but for about 6 to 8 months when the price of Oil/Gas goes up the Market goes up, but I've seen some signs that that relationship may be changing or mellowing. It will reverse, when I don't know but I'm sure we are Back Asswards now!! oilrig3.gif

Wall paper is off, had to skim the walls with joint compound and I'm finished sanding. Now have to clean up the DUST, it's about 1/8" deep everywhere, then prime and paint!! After that I start doing the Vanity tops, there are two, gonna tile them, replace the sinks and faucets. Then refinish the vanities, put up the new light fixtures, there are four, and the new mirrors. BOOGA BOOGA!! :o

Have you thought about solid surfacing material for your counter tops? You can even use this stuff in your shower unit and sinks.

Yep, looked at those, but they are pricey and I did our other bath this way and it looks great we I decided to do this one the same way, and I'm Very Frugal!!I'm spending enough, 2 sink faucet sets, 1 shower set, 1 Garden tub set, sinks, new lights, mirrors, vent, handles and hinges for the vanities, toilet seat it goes on and on!:D

Well yes, but in GA the second is just a chair with no bottom and a bucket underneath it!!:embarrest: dogjohn.gif

While we're at it, what do I do with my old fiberglass shower?

It's looking a bit old, I'm moving & selling my house and not sure what to do with it. Problem is the bathroom's opening is not big enough to fit a new 1-piece in there...
