A stock-market bear signal is at a more-than-4-decade high, says Goldman

"A gauge of bullish and bearish momentum in the U.S. stock market is ringing alarms for strategists at Goldman Sachs.

The investment bank’s so-called bull-bear indicator, which examines five market factors, indicates that the likelihood of a bear market occurring is at its highest point since around the mid-1970s."

Well after the ride on the "S" fund roller coaster yesterday I am changing into a fresh pair of sticky pants today. Hope the future rumors are true. Not looking to getting it all back but fingers crossed for half.

Good luck everyone.

TSP Board Approves 16 Percent Increase in Budget

https://www.govexec.com/pay-benefit...ercent-increase-budget/151316/?oref=top-story

"The board overseeing the federal government’s 401(k)-style retirement savings program voted unanimously Monday to approve a $360.6 million budget for fiscal 2019, a 16 percent increase over current spending."

"As a result of increasing participation, although next year’s budget marks a 16 percent increase overall, the uptick is only 8 percent, or $5, per participant. TSP Executive Director Ravindra Deo said at a board meeting Monday that a number of ongoing enterprise projects also contributed to the higher budget."

Great day yesterday. Let's hope the market doesn't give a big chunk of it back today. Still 5.49% down for the month. :(

98. Remember it well. First year I could have a TSP. All coworkers were telling me to put it all in C, whatever that was. We are all gonna be rich. Then a few months later it was "I hope you didn't put money in the C fund. None of us will ever be able to retire".

G paid about 6% that year. I spit it up between G F and C and contributed about $5k that year. EOY balance was about $8k. Earnings during the year were often negative. I was lucky I was not paying attention to it.

Well, yesterday finally got me out of negative territory. Unless the market goes crazy I don't think I will see a double digit increase this year. But for now that's OK because it's always nicer to be on the positive side. :D

Not a good way to end the week. Looks like we are giving back Wednesday's rally and then some. :banghead:

Should have bought stock in sticky pants.

This roller coaster ride is starting to make me nauseous.

Actually held the rally to close yesterday. Fingers crossed for a nice closeout for the week.

Not even looking to make some kind of profit for the year. I just hope I can finish out the year with the same numbers I had at the beginning of the year.
