Well, yea.

Of course any yes vote needs a what if or two.

If they were all WG3/5s or GS3/5s in financial difficulty, where are they now? Are there even any left?

If they were political appointees or others who believed they have to pay no tax (some CSRS types I know believe this because they pay no OASDI which is a tax so therefore...) then let the IRS do it.

One of the arguments is that OPM doesn't have the personnel to pursue this? What about the IRS? They seem to do a pretty good job tracking down and harassing people? Who are the opponents of this protecting? Is there some rule that the IRS cannot audit or question federal employees?

What else is attached to this bill? According to thomas.loc nothing else is attached and nothing has happened this calendar year. I am quite sure no vote will happen now.

What I do know is my all ready overcrowded e-mail inbox has had several posts threatening me with dismissal if I do not pay my delinquent taxes. Yeah, that is the best way to handle it! Threaten everyone or at least the rank and file. That is swift and decisive action. If the IRS knows who these people are, threaten them and leave me alone.
