"All I can say is DITTO!! When you are right, you are right. I am also one of the evil 3000. There are websites that will help you learn to manage your TSP without relying on a doomed buy and hold strategy or make less than the inflation rate in G. All you need to do is give yourself time every day to learn a little and make informed decisions. Sit down with your favorite beverage and do it!! I didn't lose 40% last year but that was because I take responsibility for my FERS retirement. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!"

You hit them with reality and I gave them an alternative. If one of them finds this site it's worth it. As long as they post the comment.

This place is the best thing I've ever experienced for my retirement. Thanks Tom and everyone else that contributes!!

I don't believe the stock market likes the treasury dept plan. Are we going to test the Nov. bottom???? Down 290 on the dow at the moment. Opps, now 308 down.

Oh, and I didn't get my ift in early enough yesterday but it did take effect last night.

Made the 2nd IFT for Feb. today to 87 - G, 8 - c, 3 - s, 2 - I.
I think stocks will go up for a bit, and then will start another decline around the middle or end of March. I'm not planning on staying in very long, and with March comes two more IFT's.
I know there's probably no possiblity of ever getting the balance back up to it's high, I'm just hoping to get it back to where it was last Sept. Since there will probably not ever be any new contributions to this account, that's the best I can hope for.
If the retirement comes through, the plan is to rollover the tsp to an IRA. Or withdraw it all and take the penalty and tax hit and pay off the house. It's hard to know what to do with all the crap that's going on.

Are you FERs and making it a career? Or CSRS?

It's FERS. Had to apply for disability retirement. It hasn't come through yet, but I think it probably will. They take their sweet time with the paperwork.

PPT works on Friday when I go in so the loss isn't what it should of been
PPT doesn't work on Monday when I'm in the market and it drops like a rock so I get out
