Thanks Gritz. I'll still be doing the tracker, just won't be moderating anymore. I can "speak more freely" now..............

M_M,

I have been sticking numbers into excel trying to figure this out. How do I post them and preserve column headings and spacing? If I just paste, all the numbers squish together to the left.

I've noticed this too. It just started not too long ago and I'm not sure if it's the TSP site or what. However, when I'm researching individual stocks and I want to enter historial data onto a spreadsheet, the numbers stay in there rows fine so I assume it's something they've done to their website.

I just hand enter everything now..................:(

Pilgrim, I might have figured it out. Try copying the numbers and pasteing them to a Wordperfect file and then copying again and paste it to your spreadsheet.

This just worked for me.. ;)

My present guesstimate for the I fund is up 1.61%.............:worried:
Final numbers for the I fund are to be up 1.83% or 34 cents because of the decline of the dollar. Unless of course there is a correction.............

What's really amazing is that overseas markets weren't really up that big today and the EFA is currently sitting at +.74%.........

Ugh. Pretty bad miss today Mlk. I'll keep watching though.

BTW, In our lengthy I fund conversations I had said several times that there was no way to monitor the MSCI EAFE on an intraday basis but I keep on learning when it comes to this fund. Bloomberg posts a result on this index about the same time MSCI does. But for a paltry $1700/month, they will let you see it INTRADAY. The good news is that means it exists. Now I just have to keep digging until I find a way/place to get it for a tad less.

Hey, it was just a theory............and I don't remember you giving me props on Monday when I was dead on.......:p....just kidding. I really don't get it. The EFA was up over 1% and the dollar dropped like a rock yesterday. Should of meant a better day than .8% no?

Oh well, I'll keep looking at it but I'm not that concerned. I hate the I fund remember............

Maybe Tom will get us a subscription. It would be a tax write off wouldn't it Tom? :D

BTW, everybody root for JetBlue for me. I bought it on Monday and have to hold it until at least Thursday because I used unsettled funds. My reasoning was two fold, it's dropped something like 35% so far this year so it's currently, or was on Monday, at about it's all time low. Also, I'm thinking gas may actually go down a bit, which is good for airlines, before we get the summer run up again. I'm not sure how long I'll hold it, but I was hoping to get 10% on it before I sell it. It does scare me though............

I wouldn't call Monday's, or today's, estimate dead on, however I would say they were close enough to have value in making pre-noon decisions, IF you could get it to a point where it was fairly reliable. Meanwhile I will keep looking for a place to get intraday quotes on the MSCI EAFE, especially now that we know it exists.

I'd like to try to help you out with Jet Blue with a little preferential treatment, but we know that wouldn't be legal.

how about 100 dividend into 1700=17

Appears like this I fund thingy may be fruitless. Looks like they are taking the price of the dollar at 2:30pm and not 12:00pm EST. This doesn't help us with our noon deadline.

Price of the dollar at noon was 89.85. Price at 2:30pm was 89.70. This is a difference of .17%. Add this to my original calculation of .10% and what do you get? Exactly what the EAFE was up yesterday. I guess this is why they wait until about 3:00pm to post the values. I believe the TSP gave extra yesterday because they owed us from Tues.

My theory may work relatively well when the dollar is pretty flat lined from noon until 2:30pm though.

BREAKING
NEWS Consumer prices up 0.1% in Feb, up 0.1% excluding food and energy; housing starts down 7.9%; jobless claims rise.

Low inflation numbers. Good news! :D

I'm 4-wheelin' over to 50% S and 50% I this morning.

Right now I have the EAFE being up 1.3%. If the TSP takes back what they gave yesterday, the I would be up .78%.

As of noon, I have the EAFE up 1.43% and if the I fund gives back what it gave yesterday, I have it up .91%. This all depends on what the dollar does from now until 2:30pm EST...................

BTW, I had the price of the dollar at noon as 89.15.

Sounds a little high to me. Morgan Stanley has the Far East portion down .8 after the dollar.

BTW - Had you read my account before you chose your manner of transportation over to the S and I? I posted 8 minutes before you and said that I was wheelin' over to the G.
