If a tree fell in a room full of moderators, would it make a sound..........

Perhaps it would just lay there and wonder why it's roots couldn't hold it up anymore........

Some trees grow too fast and it's roots can't handle the weight as it branches out.........

Sometimes though, if you take a piece of that tree and nourish it, it'll grow new roots.......

Then again, occasionally the tree is intertwined with poison ivy...........

I think that I shall never see, a tree as beautiful as me......ah hell, I gotta pee...........;)

I moved back to 100% S this morning. That F fund fund sure wasn't the place to be.

Looks like the S and I funds will be the big losers today. I"m hoping it's back up tomorrow so I can re-coop a little money. Guess I'll decide in the morning rather to stick it out or jump ship for a day or two.

Good luck,

M_M

I swear the F fund is useless. Glad I only had 20% to lose 2 cents; S made up for it but gee.....what's it good for! Here's to buying the fear today!:^

Hopefully it's a good sign for the stock funds if it keeps going down. I'm sure one day it will come in real handy when the stock funds are on a continued downtrend. Have to remember that in 2000-02 it averaged about a 10% return. Lot better than the stock funds. :^

Thought I'd get a couple pennies back today but it's not cooperating as of yet........:(

To buying the fear! :^

Well, I don't know anything about any Hindenburgh Omen, but some things I do know, it is the end of the month and the end of the quarter. A lot of money has been sitting on the sidelines and may come back into the market now. If it does, where would it go? Large caps, small caps, bonds, international? My thinking would be international. Japan and Latin America mainly. Our I fund doesn't cover Latin America but it does cover Japan. You also have to thinkk about the dollar though. I just plan don't trust it so I hate playing it.

Even if the Fed does give us another rate increase, I do believe most think it's coming to an end. I seriously doubt
they want to give us an inverted yield so I believe we have to give the long term yield a chance to rise somemore. I would think this would be bad for bonds.

I will stick with 100% S probably until the 1st or 2nd of Oct. and then see where we are at. We might see a pull back at that time.

IF anything I should probably diversify into the C and I funds also, but I won't at this time.

Good luck,

M_M

Pyriel, I just saw you locked TSP_Elvis's account. I don't know why, but that's up to you I guess. Tom has already PM'd her about her account, and I have talked to a couple of other people about who it is.

Did you talk to Tom about this? I could PM this, but why bother when you have nothing to hide? I do believe this moderator stuff is going to your head......

I"m out with her, as well as some other co-workers that choose to remain guests. Yes pyriel, they have different IP address's if that is what you are going by. There are reasons for why she uses my puter, but I think plenty of people have been with the govt. long enough to understand.

For those that don't know, TSP_Elvis works with me and follows my intermediate system. Meaning she only moves on average once a week. She does play the I fund also, but I refuse to........

She was doing okay. Oh well, good luck.

YOu can block my account also pyriel, won't be needed anymore. :^

Good luck all,

M_M

Good grief, mlk, enough already. You were doing so well, too. That really should have been a PM...you undermine your own efforts when you insist on making a public spectacle out of it.

[line]

So you think S will be the intermediate term winner, to, like, January?

I waited to see what you would have to say rolo, and YOU were doing so well. LOL

Still can't believe you're a moderator, must be that "controversy" element.

Oh well, later tator.

Nice talk for a moderator. You wonder why the "grown ups" don't post here...........

I'll take your word for it mlk. There are privileges that go withbeing a preferred member. :)

Pyriel is just doing his job... as thankless as it is.

You should run for office, mlk, with all the grand-standing mudslinging campaigning you do. :?

If you have a grievance, then articulate it. Why do you expect to get anywhere when all you do is alienate everyone? Nobody can see your point when all you do is lash out.

Then you pull the "I'm leaving! Really! I am!" to see who is on your side and who will say "noooo...milkie...stay...pleeeese?". I've been there myself, kindred spirit. Do you do that with other relationships IRL, too?

I'm not saying this to put you down, mlk, I'm saying this because you got a problem and you need to stop and think about whatchyer doin' and why. Also, you might want to peruse the DSM IV. Your issues will only get worse later in life....mine are about kicking my ass here lately in spite of making progress.

Then you ... Do you do ...?

I'm not saying this ...

Rolo, We do appreciate your fine efforts here. But as a moderator, you should be setting an good example.

Let's just get along and all of us grow our TSP accounts. :D

Hmmm... As always, I don't have any qualm in apologizing for my mistake out in the open. And, I certainly do not allow this moderator stuff go into my head. In fact, I really don't care for it. I took this job because I was asked and not because I volunteered myself. But no matter what the case maybe, I took the job and will stand by it and will do my best to manage it the best way I can. The problemhere is that mymanagement style might not be conducive toother people's perspective. I respect that and thank those that provide input to show me a better way of doing things.

I also would like to point out that Ihave no agenda whatsoever since I pretty much laid outin thevery beginning that Iam a novice when it comes toplaying the market:?. I do however, will go head to head with anybody here when it comes to playing the real estatemarket.:P

Thank you all for your support and endeavor to teach others to grow their TSP account...:^

Hmmm... Thank you Greg for your keen observation. I do feel that Tom chose his moderators because of our different personalities, strengths, and also weaknesses. Rolo's strength is Ahh? Hmmm?Uhhh?Rolo what is your strength again?:P

Greg: How am I not setting a good example? To fix an issue, we have to deal with it. mlk feels "swept under the rug" (If I understand some of his points correctly) and I won't do that to him; I like the guy.

Also, "Moderator" does not come with one of those pious pointy hat things and a frontal lobotomy.

Rolo,

I feel your 9:18 PM comments were 100% personal attacks.
I also feel that professionals that actually use DSM4 would say that you crossed the line using it against someone.
I'm don't want to have cross-words with you, so I won't be replying to anything else on this discussion - other than to say that everyone here hopes MM stays.

Sincerely & Over-and-Out,
G

I wasn't using it against him; how could I when I stated that I am in the same boat? (read my account talk for more info on that)

There is more context to this that you are not aware of since you have not seen every exchange between us...which is exactly my original point about keeping things in PM when they are not appropriate in public. People who do not have the whole picture butt-in (some with noble intentions, others not) and a mountain is created out of a mole hill.

Now that we all know the adverse impacts of airing dirty laundry, we all know not to do it. If I see it (I don't care who writes it), I will delete it without warning, so don't waste your time.

heh...My wife commented a while back about how surprised she was that a bunch of middle-aged guys talking about money can be so touchy and sensitive. She has a point.

"You should run for office, mlk, with all the grand-standing mudslinging campaigning you do. "

Hmmm, if you mean the times that I've gone after people that bash, then please allow me to do it once again. If I ran for office and won, not only would you be deported to your native country of Uranus, but PT Cruisers would all be laid to rest in the same cemetary that holds Pacers, Edsels, and Gremlins.

"If you have a grievance, then articulate it.

What is your idea of "articulate"? BWAAAAHHHHHAAAAA, WTF, Yippie Kiyay, and whatcher doin'?

"Why do you expect to get anywhere when all you do is alienate everyone? Nobody can see your point when all you do is lash out."

The only ones I've alienated either belong to that other site that you frequent or just don't belong in my life.

"Then you pull the "I'm leaving! Really! I am!" to see who is on your side and who will say "noooo...milkie...stay...pleeeese?". I've been there myself, kindred spirit. "

Did you go to "Cowboy" school also? Seems as though I've read this before. At the very least you could be original.

"Do you do that with other relationships IRL, too? "

What can I say, I'm just a walk away joe. "Baby, baby don't get hooked on me......I'll just love you then I'll set you free....."

"I'm not saying this to put you down, mlk, I'm saying this because you got a problem and you need to stop and think about whatchyer doin' and why."

I'm not saying these things to put you down either. I'm just saying them because the ones with the problems are usually the ones that say others have the problem. Listen to the New Orleans hearings, you'll know what I mean Dr. Phil........

"Also, you might want to peruse the DSM IV. Your issues will only get worse later in life...."

Not sure what you are talking about. What's wrong with Jagermeister and Red Bull?

"mine are about kicking my ass here lately in spite of making progress."

I'd kick your ass too, but PETA might come after me.....

Have a nice day.
