Hi mlk_man,

I'm new to this forum. What does the $ dropping mean to you? As far as the S fund? As far as the I fund?

Wishing you the best!

PCBill

The dollar dropping mostly good for the I fund because it is an international fund. Barclays will adjust the MSCI EAFE, which our I fund follows, up when the dollar is down and adjust it down when the dollar is up.

I'm not the I fund price guru, but with the dollar and the EFA sitting where they are at right now, I'd say the I fund should be up around 0.9% today. I hope so anyway. Maybe even a bit higher.

Hope this helps and welcome to the board!

Wow, I just checked the markets in Europe and they all dropped significantly after our economic reports this morning. No wonder they all hate us............

Heading back over to my S fund. May not be long if I get a sell signal tomorrow, which is highly possible.......................

Didn't get that sell signal yet so I'll be staying in the S fund waiting for yet another bounce. Been a very volatile week to say the least. If you got lucky and jumped in and out at the right times, which I'm not all that good at, you made some nice gains. I'm going to work on making fewer moves between the funds and just go with one allocation when I get a buy signal. May have to incorporate the I fund this month. If the dollar keeps dropping, it should ease some of the volatility. But usually like the volatility, that's the problem...................:D

Good luck!

I got a sell signal today but was having trouble downloading some websites for some reason so I didn't get the data to tell me to sell till after noon. I knew it would be close so I went to 100 I because sometimes the I fund will go up one day past my sell signals. We shall see tomorrow.......

PC Bill,

Haven't you seen any of those frogs coming across the border with their ultra strong loonies - they are in Florida for the winter and they are shopping Chicago, Seattle, and ever place else. They are even coming in from Europe to buy luxury goods with their strong Euros - don't you remember when the Japanese tried to buy Honolulu?

Every time the dollar declines, it makes the U.S. more competitive on international trade, and that is the customer the world is aching for. The Japanese will end up buying their Acuras that are made in this country and ship them home. Dow up 110.

They have been coming in since October. Most of them are buying real estate to winter in the US, mostly in Florida. Business is currently good for a border business. Many are buying their cars here and exporting them to Canada. But I have seen this cycle in the past and I foresee it going back the other way. The money they spend they earned in the US. Most of them work here on a visa or something else. They live in Canada cause health benifits are free.

Still no buy signal so gonna hold the F fund since the penny should come in the G today.

Be careful tomorrow if that unemployment rate inches up.

Not that I try to watch the F-fund, but it is due to turn. (Notice, I'm in G-fund...)

My figuring is if it turns tomorrow, it'll be because the fed indicates that the near future could bring rate decreases. If this happens, I figure the market will shoot up also. Not getting a buy signal yet so I'll wait. :D

I agree, AGG is due some upside now. $TNX giving first indications of pullback to 4.42. I don't think FED is going to hint that they may ease anytime soon. Holding that is covering their butts. But if they do, I see your point milk, to take the pop in equities.

Just checked Octobers Fed meeting and bonds went up so I'll stay in 100F. I don't think the wording will change too much.

Got a buy signal so I moved to 100% S fund. Cross your fingers.......

Might see a -FV today in the I fund with that recent drop in the US markets..........

Not quite there yet, it's close though. Atleast the I fund has some cushion to give. I'm hoping for a +FV myself.:) My wishful thinking hat tells me that there might be a unanimous decision on a hold, unlike the previous meetings.:D

You might need to see one or two voting for a cut.
