Kramer's talking about a monkey throwing darts at the start of Mad Money tonight. Thought some of you might like to catch it since it seems to be a popular topic.

I've been wondering for a while. Does anyone think we as a group can move the market. Jim Cramer said the other day that when he was a hedge fund manager he could move the market with 5 million, but nowadays it would probably take 10 million. Today I noticed a lot of the leaders moving into stocks today. If the TSP board has to have us in the fund by the closing date they would have to buy us in by the close. So if we as a group put 10 million into stocks today could that have brought the market back at the close? Just an interesting observation.

10 million for a single stock, not a mutual fund. Money is spread too thin per each stock.

I believe that the markets would take notice and so would the TSP Board of Governors and the SEC. Men in dark suits and sunglasses would be escorting Tom home from work and no one could get on the MB. LOL   It would take massive coordination and full participation on our part, but anything can be done when you set you mind to it.

09:00 am : S&P futures vs fair value: -3.0. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +1.0. The stage is now set for the major averages to open in split fashion. The fact that oil prices are tacking a 1.0% decline onto yesterday's 4.5% sell-off, and are below $58/bbl ahead of expected builds in the Energy Dept.'s weekly inventories report (10:30 ET), is contributing to an improved sentiment. Nasdaq 100 futures now trading slightly above fair value are getting an extra boost following upbeat analyst commentary on bellwethers like Intel (INTC), Comcast (CMCSA) and Amgen (AMGN) as well as better than expected Dec. comps growth from Costco Wholesale (COST).

Dell,

What's this good friend stuff - didn't you kick me to the curb? Our romance is over but civility will prevail because my respect is forever. Not all gunfights end in injury.

Dennis

I can, have, and will argue with you and other posters. I tire (often) of what I perceive as your too large ego and wish we would start an entirely separate thread where you, and other investors / traders, can discuss your personal stock transactions and not clog uo the board where most of us wish to discuss strategies and information concerning our 401K. (Tom, can we do this?) However, to tire of you I must be reading your posts. And since I still read them, I do glean the occasional nugget which helps me make my decisions. And while I disagree with your sometimes demeaning posts,

yes, you are my friend.

This message was just posted on the TSP site:

Special Notice: The nightly processing cycle has run longer than expected due to processing high volumes of transactions from the previous business day. As a result, the Account Balance information has not yet been refreshed. The updated data will be available later today.

And I just got the TSP IFT confirmation email from yesterday, about five minutes ago.

they are playing catch-up today.

The IFT slip did have the right numbers on it.

The website account balance is still showing 12/29, however.

Let's keep'em busy, eh?

I like that slow economic growth - it's what Goldilocks ordered. My seismograph gave me a notice today - just a ripple but nonetheless a vibration. The herd is starting to circle. Am I ready for a stampede of the Dow to 13,000 - huh? Double Snort.

TSP has finally updated everything through Jan 3rd! ABOUT TIME!!

Yeah... that was weird! It was showing a loss and had me down .54 for the year. But with the update I'm at +.99.

Much better:)

Hoping tomorrow will be a better day but there's a self fulfilling prophecy that's being peddled that might make it difficult... Hope I'm wrong but the market feels like folks will be trying to take $$ off of the table..
