kodaq2001's Account Talk

finally , i can get out of s funds! i've been stuck for months and now i'm free. i'm about to make my move for the leaderboard people

my numbers are overwhelmingly subpar for 2012 and i feel i need to make a move asap. i'm a little scared about this fiscal cliff but feel like they'll get it resolved. i noticed that december is usually good for returns .. is anyone else gonna make a move this month or just sit the bench?

Your data representation would show a late 2nd week entry point on historic data. The cliff issue needs to be clear and concise....If there are any numbers that show little or no resolution then no market position would be recommended.

Join the club, kodaq2001. I feel the pressure too. That's why I'm staying out of the market for now. I'm betting against my emotions. I think if you buy in now you will be buying in high. I'm expecting a slight pullback from here and won't buy in until I get a better buy price. Unfortunately that kept me out of the market for Jan, Feb, and most of Mar. You guessed it, I bought in high. :(

I'm done sitting on the bench. I've been scared for too long and the market keeps going up! I'm used to dominating the autotracker but last year was horrible so I'm about to make a bold move and ride the wave ... soon, very soon. Pray for me.

thought of the day: moved up 500 spots on the autotracker since my last move. its gonna be hard to finnish top 10 with such a slow start but its possible ... i need to get me another tsp mug for home usage.

Good luck with that K2.
Most that are out are expecting an entry and most that are in are trying to time an out.
Rock meet hard place.

Advice Needed: TSP is up big currently ... is it too late to get in this wave or are we expecting a drop soon?
Well Kodaq that appears to be the question of the year! I personally couldn't stand it any longer and just recently jumped back in. :) Common sense says that it can't keep going up and up and up! But it is! Logic says there will be a better place to get in if you're not already in if you are the patient sort. I'm not by the way. JMHO

I guess it depends on who you talk to. I'm in and I'm not timing an exit anytime soon.

The shortest bull market in commodities lasted 15 years and the longest bull market lasted 23 years. So if history is any guide, this bull market is going to last until sometime between 2014 and 2022 - if you can believe that. We've now had 180 days without even a 5% consolidation. Whew!!

Advice Needed: TSP prices look pretty low and I'm not sure why. Should I jump into S funds now or wait til they dip lower?

Check JTH's thread. He posted some percentages to go up or down. I'm looking at 1853 to think about increasing my allocation but I bought just before this dip and look how I did.:o

I see that you came up with a decision. Well you missed the 4% dip in the S fund and fear is subsiding. The majority of the dip may be over and you may have entered at a good point.:) Missing the dip has you ahead in the game.

My 2012 TSP championship mug is starting to get old and outdated so I have decided to win another one. This is why I went all in S Funds yesterday because it was at bargain bin prices.

I wouldn't get too excited... we're still in the trading range.
