We're actually out delivering what little mail we have today.

We had a bomb threat at my office today. We spent an hour in the parking lot till we got the all clear to go back in.
The story I got was that somebody called the local animal clinic and said that the USA was treating Egypt badly so they were going to blow up the
Post Office. How stupid is that?
After I finally got on the street I needed gas in the mail truck so I stopped at the same convenience store that I always do and when I got there there were all kinds of police cars everywhere. They were hovering around a pay phone. One officer had the fingerprint kit out and another was taking pictures of the area. As I was getting out of my truck I made eye contact with one of the officers and I asked him "Is that where they called from?" He knew that I knew so he just said yes. He said that when they found out the call had been made from a pay phone he was like "A pay phone? Where is there still a pay phone?" I told him that that was the only one that I know of.
I didn't want to get in their way so I went into the store and talked to the ladies behind the counter. I noticed a camera above the sidewalk so I asked if it was pointed at the phone and they said it was. There was surveillance footage so they could tell what the perp looked like and what kind of car he was in.
What a day... :blink:
I'll most likely fall out of the top 100 on the tracker this evening. It was fun while it lasted.

You're lucky, around here, you make eye contact like that with cops on a crime scene and you'd get drawn down. :worried:
I remember one late night after work, and in my street clothes, I walked into a 7-11 I frequented on one of my routes, and the older guy behind the counter who was familiar with me was visibly upset.
I asked him what was going on and he told me he'd just been robbed.
He gave me a brief description of the dude, so on my way home, I zigged through the neighborhood, because in that particular area, there were only so many places you could go and be undercover. Otherwise, access was fairly restricted and the neighborhood open.
Well, long story short, cops saw me driving slow and observant through the 'hood, pulled me over, cuffed me, put me in the car and took me to the 7-11, and asked the guy I knew if it was I that did the deed!
The worst part was, he didn't immediately say NO!
I couldn't believe it. I really thought he was going to say not sure or some bogus response, but he finally said no, and then no again, I guess after they took him aside.
That was the last time I got involved in ANY way with non-injury convenience store robberies. Sheesh.
The cops were all over it, I was almost- more than concerned for a bit.
Hope they nab your pay phone guy.

FWIW, using the url finance.yahoo.com on two different computers at home and two different ones at work, I get different page setups. The ones at work are supposed to reject cookies so I have no idea why the difference.
