What's up KC. How's the daughter? I wont be at work tomorrow. My son's having surgery on his ankle. A plate, some screws, and he'll be good as new. Hope we get a bounce this week or I'm heading for the Bear cave for a while.

Hi KC/WH/Nnut:

Well, last week STUNK...Really felt that kick in the head. I'm in for tomorrow, but I'm probably bailing to G for a bit on Tuesday...

No idea when the tea leaves are going to indicate staying in. I so wanted the S Fund to bounce, but right now I'm looking at C and I for the immediate future. No big deal since I only get 2 IFT's a month anyway.

I finally got a response from the White House about my email questioning the Federal Register Notice. I doubt they will do anything since they are the ones pushing this atrocity...but we're still trying to fight this thing. I sent emails to a bunch of old compatriots at DOE and asked them to bend the union reps ear..The more folks that speak out, the better our chances. Bless James and Show-Me for their hard work to fight this.

I've been quiet recently because I tool a part time job at ATT. IMan, and I thought the Government was a bueracracy...This has been a bit tough because well....I do love retirement and sleeping in, reading my paper, and driking coffee and doing nada..but I guess I also enjoy a little challenge from time to time. So, I'm having a little fun for a few months.

Best of luck to everyone. 2008 hasn't started out with that positive note I had hoped for...maybe it will improve..time will tell.

Don't worry. You are going to make it all back and then some.

KC, Don't let the B@stards get ya down. I dont remember who said that but, I like it. Umm maybe Kris Kristofferson? I'm staying in until we get some kind of relief rally. We have a long way to go to make it up. Aint Skeered (yet)........

I have been trying your way since the first of the year. Boy you must have tough skin and a bottomless wheel of money. I am not paying any attention to the noise but all I see is RED. I guess when it turns green I will be feeling better? Am going to DCA for the 1st half of the year and see what happens. Or at the very least can prove Ms. Ray hasn't a clue to what she is talking about?

wv-girl,

If you dollar cost into your chosen funds while we are testing these bottoms you will gain more shares and your eventual upside, when it arrives, will make you even at a faster rate. Actually, the longer the recovery takes the more shares you accumulate - and for retirement that is really the objective of the game. I caught my most recent C fund purchase at $15.92, who knows what the next purchase price may be. The previous purchase was at $16.74 - what a deal I got. But the sacrifice of being devalued to get there was steep, but that is only temporary. When we get back to the $17 range anything I got in the $15 range will be appreciated.

KC -- Sorry for using your thread.

Birch --- Thank you. My brain knows this -- but it is still hard. My first DCA is tomorrow..Maybe when I see it..it will help. In the meantime..ouch!

Hi KC:

I've been hanging in to the tune of -5+% percent now. Can't wait for things to go the other way and I hope we do have a rally before the S&P falls to 1370..If it does, I hope it doesn't break below..else I'm thinking 1270 before the trends turn around. Hope the Fed finally steps up and adds a 1% rate decrease. It's really clear that something needs to happen to spur the economy and home buying..I'm not ready yet to bail to 100% bonds yet, so I'm still 50/50. I must be an idiot...oh well, it's just money:D:D:D

Hang on KC! Today could get ugly quick and hopefully the feds will step in and give us som temporary relief. Cant jump ship now......
