Kinda wish I was there enjoying a cold one. I'm here in the middle of the dark blue sea with bare poles. Just through out the sea achor and waiting for the seas to calm so I can head back to the harbor, or wait for the sun to shine and calmer winds. We'll see what tomorrow brings....:D

20 years on submarines it was always cold and dark, but I couldn't have a cold one.... Now I fix the subs and let the young kids take them out to sea and I have a cold one when they leave. Works better that way.:D

VIX dropped a bunch today. S&P has a really nice double bottom, good chance for legs to 800. CP & Amoeba made the call first. :D The earnings data still scares me long term. Based on earnings price is too high. If we start seeing an upcheck in earnings after the second quarter it might feed Ben's theory of a second half recovery but it's way too early to call yet. good luck to those in themarket tomorrow. I am IFTless.

The 5% in S has been killing me, not to mention F is also acting strange. Made IFT for COB 2/27 55G/45F. S fund got tagged for almost -17% this month with one day left. I got hit for almost -5%. 3X the market average and it is still a F for the month. :embarrest: I'm out of equities and expecting a hard down turn. It's pretty sad that after a month like this one I am expecting March to be worse. I may stay out awhile. Good luck to all in stocks.

Hang in there buddy, it's been a rough month for all of us. :worried:

Very true my friend. I'm not at capitulation yet but I'm close. We need one more big downleg to run everyone out and then the bull might take off at least for awhile.JMO. The problem with a down leg is where is the next line of support. 420ish? 350ish? I'm not sure. We are at 1997 levels and I'm not sure how low we need to go.....

LATEST SIGNAL(02/27/2009): HOLD Gold (GLD) through 03/08/2009.

"FEB 27— Monday 2/23: Obama announces he will balance the budget in four years by raising taxes on businesses and the wealthy, assuming presumably, there are any of either left by next week. Treasury leaks a plan in the works to maybe nationalize Citibank, but not really. Investor confidence increases—in the certainty that none of these DC clowns have a clue. Stocks lose over 3%. The Dow hits a twelve year low. The S&P technically breaks down on a closing basis, but not intraday."

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: I like these guys.

Finally!! The F fund and AGG were both up!! Moved up a little today, still 55G/45F per the tracker. I mis-typed my position yesterday as 50G/50F.:embarrest: Now ahead of the L income. Must beat G........:toung:

I almost went in today during the selloff but didn't pull the trigger. Went with my gut and decided this setup looks too silimar to 11/19 - 11/20 last year and I got soaked expecting the bounce. The stochastic readings are even similar. I hope those of you that went in today do great tomorrow, I didn't have the guts for this round.:suspicious: Good luck!!

If tomorrow is also a down day I may go in with my big toe........

Jump in, is the water warm???

JB,

I tried to jump into equities today but our #@U*y network clank foo'd on the entry page. Couldn't pull the trigger for technical reasons. That coming from a computer progremmer:p

Probably for the best - for the reasons you mentioned. I always seem to make my moves early. Patience is a virtue!

I think I'll just watch this thing play out a bit, eh...

Don't ever pass on a play based on my thoughts alone. I am wrong alot!!:cheesy::nuts:

Still sitting 55G/45F. Prices on C and S are looking really low right now. I am trying to decide if it is time for me to take a stake in stocks. Not a large one, just one that can support a rally. I think there is a good chance for a rally this month but I am not sure if we are down tomorrow if it is the time to buy yet. Futures are red right now but that can change. S is down $2.00 a share since I sold last month and I sold after a 4% loss. This may be the time for me to take a position.

Changed my avitar today, this is Amika. She is a 4 yr old german shepherd and is in training to become my new scent discriminating search and rescue canine. She loves her tennis ball. Feel free to pet her she doesn't bite and is very well behaved.:toung:

She is so BEAUTIFUL !!

I eagarly looked to see if I could put her picture in with my collection.

I've got Frixxxx's and Nnutt's dogs in so far.

They (and children) are the purest of the pure and only deserve all the love, admiration, and respect we could possibly give.

Thanks for sharing,

Steady

Steady, thanks for stopping by. She is a beautiful girl. We rescued her from the pound a couple of years ago and she was a mess. I wasn't sure if she would ever be able to start SAR training. She had no life experiences and freaked at every dog she saw or person walking by. We have slowly gotten her socialized enough to pass a Good Citizen test so she is now alllowed to start SAR training.:o She has a killer nose and will be an awesome training dog eventually.

Friday looked a little sideways early so I didn't jump in. Futures are getting hammered early so I may take a nibble today if it looks like we are hitting 650 or less. Bloomberg has a headline that the S&P is still 27% overvalued (probably based on PE) but the story isn't posted yet. Another 27% would not be pretty. Stay safe out there, a bounce needs to come soon. No one knows when though.

Beatiful dog JB45,

We've always gotten our dogs from the pound, except for a German shephard we had for 18 years and who died last Dec 23. She was such a good protective gentle dog except for strangers, so we're looking for another shephard to take her place. Looking for a female, cause they are smarter and tend to be more gentle with children than male dogs. :D

We have plenty of room for them to roam and of course the wife and daughter just spoil tem to death.

That's such a beautiful story. Velvet (a cat who was apparently abused and close to being starved to death) was tossed in our yard. She was under a Zuchini leave in our small garden and when I picked her up she was as limp as you could get. That was over 25 years ago - at our first home in Clarksburg WV.

Anyway - that cat took to me just like a dog.

I can relate to the dog having a 'killer nose'. Ella is constantly smelling something when she goes outside and when we take long walks. Sometimes she takes off after something (that is invisible to me) 'using her nose' AND I'LL ALWAYS BRAG ON HER - like she's onto something big :D

Sounds like my Ella - CB - down the line (way down the line) when I need to put her down I think I'll need another dog of the same breed to fill that void.

That's funny - sounds exactly like the kind of comment I would make but .... will just say Females are incredibly smart and seem to have the perfect wiring in many ways.

We have plenty of room for them to roam and of course the wife and daughter just spoil tem to death.

That's about the first thing I thought of when I bought my home... how it would provide plenty of space for a dog. My wife and kids have done a great job - but no one comes close to me... I mean I spend way more time giving her quality time than the rest put together... and always ready to stick up for her.

Whenever one of them says "No Ella" - I'm quick to respond how she doesn't like to be told that - and to be careful with their tone cause she's pretty sensitive. SHE IS MY BABY

Hey Steady,

It is funny how one of your dogs just seem to grow on ya a little more. We have one male, a lab/shephard mix (about a year old and 80# still a pup), that's just a big old goofy dog, but he'll following me thru the woods and sit there while I'm cutting firewood or clearing the paths thru the woods. He has the markings of a shephard, but the disposition of the Lab and he loves to retrieve stuff we throw in the pond.

Dogs sure are man's best friend. :D

CB, you are so right. I've always had a great relationship with our dogs also. For some reason it seems to get better and they get even happier when you give them a job. Even if it's just chasing a ball. They love to please and are happiest when allowed to. ;) JMO
