JTH's Account Talk

OK, I'll bite - why the heck did you do that? What was your reasoning? How could you knowing Tuesday is gonna be an up day??

Any technical reason, or more emotion? My emotions tell ne to get out, but I'm stuck with a bit of a loss in the S fund from my entry position (50S 50I). Stubborn move that will probably cost me.

Essentially, it comes down to reading the tea leaves.

There is usually never a single reason why I make exits, it's usually a collaboration of reasons, most of which I've already listed. For starters, I was wrong on Tuesday the 22nd when I chose not to exit, thinking I may get a higher exit later in the month or in early May (that never happened.) I was also wrong on 24 April when I thought the Long Tail down at the top of a wave was going to go higher, it didn't and what followed was the next down wave.

Sure the market's may go higher before I get back in, but with a 5% edge, I can afford to let the markets play this out, without feeling I need to jump back in quickly. If they go south, well then I look brilliant and everyone will think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread. :)

The real hidden agenda is that JTH wants to give Betula papyrifera an opportunity to catch him on the tracker.

Now you've gone and done it. I was wondering where that knocking sound was coming from - you've got many new members knees' knocking. I'll be proud to ride any consolidation that comes along because I'm buying something every day with my dollar cost averaging dividends - it's a beautiful things buying assets for the future.

More of the same, this is one of those times where you put out the "Gone Fishing" sign and go spend some time doing the other things you love to do.

I'm with Bquat, I'm not buying this. We could be down by the end of the day.

.
Not me. I think this reversal is brought about on the news that Russia is willing to start discussions. Just news, nothing really happened yet.

When PUTIN declared that he would not use force or invade, the opposite is now a fact - Russia annexed Crimea. The exhilaration that seems to be holding the markets up, might be the false mind games again. Let's hope his credibility can be regained, and that more conflict can be avoided. However, if the exhilaration continues for an extended period, those who are shorting the market will be badly hit short-term.

I jumped in at 976 last month and have been riding along. I regret not taking profits at 1012 or so. But, will wait for the next wave up. I think my entry was correct and hope it still is...lol
