JTH's Account Talk

I use the S fund because it should be the top 500 stocks and shows the overall market move more closely. Still have problems figuring that out.

The C fund is the top 500 stocks (aka S&P-500), where the S fund is the rest (bottom 4500 or the Dow Total Completion index or Wilshire 4500).

JTH,

How are you able to get your charts from freestockcharts to post so big, as in #4616? I use the camera icon to save my charts, and it lets me enlarge them a tad, but not nearly the size you are posting. Just curious. Thanks!

When you click on the camera icon, a box should pop up, this is where you input the size of the picture (in the upper right corner of the popup.) You cannot go bigger than 850x668, anything bigger than that (or 100kbs) and your picture will be blury.

Oh, I get it now. :embarrest:
Turns out, the way I was doing it was fine, but once my chart expanded beyond what I could see in the box, I thought I had reached the max. Now I see that I can scroll around within that box. Duh. Thanks!

3rd waves are wonders to behold because this is the time in which the majority realizes the path of least resistance. Sentiment tools are rather useless during Primary 3rd waves that can last for years. The market is now stronger than at any time in the last 4 years. The price patterns are starting to mimic a more parabolic move now. Ride the wave.

Putting some skin in the game on the upside.

Been scaling in myself. Good thinking.

I don't mind going long in the IRA, I can always wait out a bad position, I'm long on 4 & hedged with TZA, but 2 of those 4 are under. The reality is I'm still teething on the IRA account, I'm just not used to the instant gradification. I'm not doing bad, but not great either. It isn't because of my TA it's because of my lack of discipline in trading & lack of funds needed to take larger positons. I'll get better with practice or suffer.... :)

Well, if you are correct, D-Day +1 should be quite interesting.

Not going to happen without a black swan event... there has been plenty of opportunities for this market to go down... it just hasn't.

Israel or Syria or Iran or Japan or North Korea or Greece need to do something stupid.

Heck, now that Amoeba is in the market, I feel like an idiot. I will probably be AT 800+ tonite.

I need a new crystal ball... this one is BROKE

let's hope your right, the F fund is killing me. I would have already gotten out if I had 2 IFT's. That's what sucks with theTSP, you are forced to stay in a loosing position for too long.

I may have missed the reasoning behind these purchases, but just wondering why you'd buy any long position (assuming these are longs) the day your projection is peaking?

Here is an update from my May 1st projection, today is D-Day

Tom, I am going to be frank, I have not been happy with my performace over the last 3 weeks, I've spent too much time building my stat-database, not enough time managing myself. The projection is just an exercise based on time, channels & fibonacci It may work, it may not but I don't place too much weight in what I think the markets will do. I've been watching those postions for a few weeks but haven't been able to get a good entry. If we go up from here, then they should perform well, if we go down, they should hold up better than the Index, and my TZA may help protect from the pain I will absorb.

I too have been getting utterly killed in the F-Fund, but I won't be letting it force me into stocks until I'm ready to enter based on what stocks are doing (not what bonds are doing.)
