JTH's Account Talk

Good to see a positive day in the markets and I see many folks chose to exit to the sidelines. Nothing wrong with taking some profit.

No, nothing wrong with taking profits. But in hindsight, the currency moves this morning was news(Greece) driven. Bear flags should have been through out the window. Getting out might have been the wrong move. And now I have to wait until March.

Biggest reason I left a fair amount exposed as opposed to taking it all out. We shall see how that works out. The volatile ups and downs has made some a bit gun shy. Don't blame them either.

Thank you, I needed that, 350z ! Yesterday I had my laptop w/me, had internet access up until about 10:20 - so missed seeing what I had been watching for all morning - folks saving their investments. So when I got home in the evening, I was a bit depressed - like - do I jump The Next Day, or will I `save' more by staying?
I will not have access the rest of this morning - & have been trying to get everything read, charts squinted at, blogs perused, to have some-sort-of-an-idea What To Do!
There is enough excitement in my life at this moment - awaiting the imminent arrival of my first Great Grandchild!!!
Thanx again -
grandma/greatgrandma !

Ooooh Grandma :o -- here I thought it was the cookies and milk that had you so excited.

That is 'WONDERFUL' news -- very -- extremely cool :cool:

YES -- for some -- LIFE is filled with blessings and there is so much to look forward to from one day to the next !!

Congratulations Grandma !!!!

Steady

:) 350, no offense, but screw your hindsight, pigs get slaughtered at the top of channels. IMHO you made the right choice and timed it perfectly based on the information & restrictions you had to work with.

Hey Jason,

I know you follow the dow transports pretty closely. It looks to me like a head and shoulders dating back to November is setting up. If you have discussed this I probably missed it but I am curious to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks, Chad

What's your take on Marty Chenard's site today showing institutions have moved back into accumulation?
http://www.stocktiming.com/Thursday-DailyMarketUpdate.htm

Not sure what to make of that chart. During the last SPX 1150, the accumulation level was at 2000. We've almost retraced 61.8% from 1150-1144 but I don't see this reflected in the accumulation stats. If you go back prior to SPX 666, you can see we did have some short spikes in accumulation that marked tops in the markets. If I had their raw data I could probably formulate a better opinion, so I'm just guessing based on the pictures.

Not sure because I've been counting that left shoulder as an M pattern with a failed A pattern, and also an inverted head & shoulders that broke out, but fell short of its price objective. Of course It could be a complex head & shoulders with a head and two left shoulders, but then that would mean we should form 2 right shoulders to match. Either ways I'm watching 4050 as we have a pretty strong resistance level here.

When I was looking at it yesterday I saw the left shoulder in mid to late November and the right shoulder forming right now, assuming it hits resistance and rolls over or just rolls over from here. As I am very much in the learning stage on this TA stuff it looks like something to ponder. We will see how it shakes out :)

No changes

Yes the ADL's S-Fund switched to a buy, but this is a 2 out of 3 system. Need the C or I fund to flip over too before entering the markets.
