JTH's Account Talk

An EMA rainbow shows us the price flow of each pullback. Look at the last 4 pullbacks, do your notice each one is stronger than the previous one?

Staying put in the G-Fund for the moment, until the Axial Drifter 2.0 is ready for release. I've been spending every waking minute of my spare time back-testing different timeframes and various TEMAs overlaid on various tickers all within the parameters of TSP's trading rules. It's been tedious work, I've run over 3,000 scans so far and my eyes feel like they are going to fall out of my head. But still, this is the stuff I live for and I wouldn't have it any other way.

On a side note: The Axial Drifter 1.0 long-term trender remains on a buy.

My suspicion is that in a liquidity driven momentum rally technical analysis is not always beneficial because of the emotion it measures. But thanks for the hard work - I do enjoy your graphs.

Based on the previous swing highs, I projected this swing high to fall within 1122-1142. Thus far it hasn't happened yet. If this is a swing high then it's not as strong as the previous tops. However we could expect a shallow pullback (like late August)and begin to form our next top from there.

I haven't been paying much attention to the markets, I'm still burying my head in backtesting. A few observations, each top is weaker than the next. Notice how the swing lows are digging deeper below the 20SMA? Also, the number of S&P 500 stocks above their 50 MA is getting weaker with each top. And add to that, this last top has been rather jagged and all over the place when compared to the previous smooth & rounded tops. This could mean the market is ready to rotate.

JTH, any progress on your Axial Drifter system, or have you gone buggy doing the back-testing?

Wow, I didn't even see this post, I must be off my rocker... Yes I'm still back-testing and it's wigging me out. It's not the back-testing itself that is hard, it's just difficult when you place the TSP restrictions within the back-testing parameters.

JTH - You're looking like a genius about now. Nice move yesterday.

Thanks it was good to take a break from watching the charts, but for now I'd rather be invested, and still have 2 IFTs :)

Was beginning to think you were ignoring me or something . Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Making a quick jump into the F-Fund

Taking profits, watching silver top out, waiting for a defintive breakout.

While I would like to jump in today I'm not going to because this market is not impressing me with today's action.

I would like to see a close at the highs with a higher high, if we get that then I may jump in on Monday. Notice the March trendline?

What say you today? Jumping in?

No I didn't get a chance today, I was in meetings most of the morning. I did get to look at the markets with 10 minutes before the IFT cutoff, but I couldn't inspire myself to jump into the markets.

I'll re-examine the charts tonight and post an update.

Had a small window for ift today, but did not jump. Think I am going to move tonight.

Birch,
Glad to see your back.
