JTH's Account Talk

Never fails to amuse: Intrepid and his ASSUMATIONS. Folks, this is one big reason why you don't translate someone else's "system."

Double patterns may lose, but it's the entry from start to finish that counts. That's why it's called double-pattern entries.
Let me explain it to you in terms you can understand. Before you shoot the ball, you should first look for an open player or a good spot to shoot (entry). Now, I have a double pattern starting next Tuesday. I look around and see an open pattern 3/grn-red-red (WP: 57.0%) today (Friday). Do you think I should pass up on a bullish single pattern who's all alone under the basket or take advantage of it? Well, today's double-pattern entry had a gain of +0.69%, so that answers that question. By the way, I discovered the double patterns only last year (no records for 2007-2012). All 7 double-pattern entries in the S-fund were live calls, not backtested. Successful in 7 out of 7 tries.

Double-patterns take precedence over single or triple patterns, and allow the system to be in equities (S-fund), even if our current triple pattern (4-4-4) is bearish. Don't assume that triple patterns can't change direction during the year. By the way, the system gained 3.0% in April, 4.12% in May, so don't try to go by your twisted calculations. :toung:

I mentioned before that from 2007-2012, all 14 triple patterns were successful. Last year (2013), all 3 triple patterns failed to beat the S-fund. This year, all 3 triple patterns have been right, so far. Everything has its cycle.

Sorry for the post, JTH. This should be the last one. :D

My question was about the last 9 months of last year, but I guess we'll just forget about that.

Since you discovered the double patterns last year and have no records for 2007-2012 (why you can get data for triple patterns during those years but not double patterns is strange, or deceitful), then you are basically testing a new system and you still think everyone should follow your lead? Um, okay...............good luck with your holy grail.

I'm glad you are amused. All those poor people that didn't make squat following your lead for 5 years probably aren't amused. Some people think this is a game, but I don't.

popcorn is free over in my system's thread. so is the beer. plus i don't mind if anybody starts cussing or pulling hair. in fact, i kind of like it that way.

How did the topic of Technical analysis by JTH turned into a fight of whose system is better? Honestly Ebbs and IT system is great, I think its just a matter of preference of which to follow. Hell I think Birchtree "Mega Bull" system is great too. He's been buying and holding for years and making great money out of it, it's just not my style.

I don't know, the bulls are definately locking horns. Nothing like a good bullfight to spice things up. Now sit back and enjoy the show...Hey RMI, any popcorn left?

You’ve clearly stated across this forum that my thinking is limited, I speculate negatively, and at the very least, my efforts are good enough for government work. Your continuous back-handed compliments and insults are transparent and not desired. There are plenty of other threads where you can generate attention, please do me the courtesy of never posting here again.

Thanks...Jason

"Transports lead from the front." That's easy to say but not always easy to acknowledge while it's happening.

The weekly chart outlines the shelf of broken resistance, what an excellent run.

Yes, there is no denying the leader right now. There are a lot of green candles in a row there, I would expect some short term weakness / consolidation soon. I am not thinking anything severe though as long as liquidity remains.

Here are the Top 84 compounded returns over the past 5-years, I did not post anything under the G-Fund's returns.

Anyone here from ContrarianJeff lately. He (assuming), is definitely something to watch - eh. You blew one of my markers, but I don't know where the chap has gone. His views were always valuable... Also, remember 12%peryear. He/she was good to go, but had a dump in 2008. Would still like to here from him/her.

There are so many folks who are good to go around here. I communicate with a number of them on a rarish basis. If I can hold in the top quintile I feel I am doing something special. That is my goal in the company I keep around here. Haven't made it, but this year will be the charm...

Yea, five years is a long time for members of a forum, even longer for something requiring participation like the Autotracker. It's amazing of the 300 from 2009, that about a 1/3rd are still tracking and there are over 1,300 folks on the 2013 tracker!

I also saw Aviator Guy at #11 on that list. When I first started following this site at the end of 2010, he was the leader and he posted his thoughts and moves regularly. In the end, I think he made a fateful move to the G-fund and got edged out by the Sentiment Survey for 1st place, but those were the glory days. It's nice when the leaders participate on the forum.

Thanks JTH!
