JTH's Account Talk

I always worry to some extent regarding the minutia but simply keep my sticky pants on. We might take out SPX 1820 today before we close.

oh yoy yoy:

Please tell me you are just trying to make some quick money off of those that know less than you do; you can't seriously believe this stock can be a real business, do you?

You seem to be going out of your way to player-hate on this issue, I don't go telling people where to put their money and if it's right or wrong, to each their own. Look to November when the majority of legislation is going to get voted on, with high risk to lose everything, comes high potential to gain. I could lose the entire position and not lose an ounce of sleep, it's all about position sizing, the higher the risk, the less money you should commit.

It's not "vote" -able

Yes I am (no "seem" about it). It is a Schedule I banned substance - for the entire Country - no selling, no buying, no growing, synthesizing, or possessing, and no having it in your system driving, nor working for some Federal employees. It is classified as such due to a high health risk, no proven medical benefit, and high potential for abuse. States don't have any authority to legislate it into legality. As to the trading of stock in a company whose primary purpose is to market illegal drugs: that's a different legal question that hasn't been answered.

The status of such substances is a product of scientific data and analyses that follow an an established drug evaluation process. There's nothing in that process that involves the opinion of voters.

Gee, don't let all that get in the way of riding this wagon to handsome gains!

Why do you care? Times are changing for this stuff, whether you like it or not. Right now people are buying, selling, growing, synthesizing, AND possessing! All legally too! I know for a fact JTH knows the risk with these companies and acted within his tolerance for that risk; heck I even bought some for myself. Last time I looked I was making decent money and I am sure he is also. That is what this game is about. End of story.

Well. it's been two days since I adjusted the price targets and 2 of the 3 have already been met in short order. 1808 was a gimme, 1820 was plausible, while 1850 goes beyond my expectations. My suspicion is we will encounter turbulence with the upper red trendline. Otherwise there doesn't seen to be much resistance to 1850. I really have no idea how this plays out, but what I can tell you is when you see the S&P 500 leading the Wilshire 4500 & the Transports, it's either #1 the end of the year's window dressing or #2 something is fundamentally wrong. From my perspective I'd advice caution, but it all really just depends on where you're at and how you're setup within February. For myself, after taking the Feb 1st hit, I'm ahead for the month with 2 IFTs, so it's probable I'll make an exit tomorrow, if not then Thursday or Friday.

So do you think we're heading for those lower price targets?

So do you think we're heading for those lower price targets?

Stretching back to the weekly charts, we are still well within the March 2009 channel and got a nice long tail on last week's candlestick within the July 2013 yellow trendline which we pierced but didn't close under. You may notice the previous two candlestick tails on the same yellow trendline spurred rallies and the 13,2 Weekly Bollinger band has an upper range of 1900. So basically the long-term charts look good, the short-term looks decent (if you're already in.) If I wasn't already in I'd be hesitant to jump in at these levels, my indicators are at the same strength as the previous 1850 top, and one of my systems did not confirm today's price action which is very unusual considering the strength we had today. Seasonally, I would expect weakness over the next 2 weeks after Presidents day.

Thanks JTH. I'm currently 100% G and probably missed the boat on this rally. Hopefully we get that pullback later this month and I can get back in. I'll then be poised for a nice run in March. Again, many thanks.

JTH...i remarked yesterday in your thread I was contemplating selling the news...your decision to IFT today confirmed it for me...thanks. 100%G with 1 IFT remaining...sleeping good tonight.
