Thank you guys. I don't like counting especially when I don't have enough fingers and toes but it's nice to be remembered. ;)

S&P to 1887!
History suggests the S&P 500 may have another big move left in it. “Should the S&P 500 record a price advance in the coming year that is similar to the average of the prior fifth-year bull markets, the [index] could advance to 1877 by this time next year,” Sam Stovall, chief equity strategist at S&P Capital IQ, wrote to clients on Monday. If history is any guide, the S&P 500 could be in for a 21% rally from Monday’s close of 1556, which in and of itself is only 0.6% from its all-time high.

Sounds great -- but only with if there's a buyable dip first for those like me who have been watching from the sidelines. Or one could heed other perspectives currently appearing in the WSJ. Like this one just yesterday -- "Major U.S. stock indexes are in a buying panic, and such action usually signals market tops, not bottoms":
Panic buying signals market top? - MarketWatch

Here's to hoping the article you posted is the more prescient one JP ... provided we get a good dip first and I have the presence of mind and fortitude to buy in of course. :cheesy:

I'm just adding fuel for BT and JJ :toung: One walks on water and the other levitates. How can you go wrong?
Just glad JJ isn't the one wearing cullotes.

The herd mentality is instrumental in bringing about a buying panic. Moreover, it's usually found that a positive news event is behind the widespread fear that leads to the buying panic - I can hear the bullish rumble advancing.

I gave this a like too, even though I don't know what a cullote is. I am also trying to get a sense of humor about everything these days. So a dog and a mouse walked into a bar. The dog started dogging the mouse....

BT knows. He likes to wear yellow ones with pumps. :D

Some say that the recent retail sales were spectacular and Tepper remains a confirmed bull - that's the news.

Hi JP - I gotta win at something, I suck at stocks so Im going give the Top 10 posters some serious competition. maybe unseat Nutt or Birch

Theyve proven you really dont have to have much to say to get the numbers. yuk yuk

I passed you up, you passed me up. Looks like today the ball is in my court. Don't forget to wave when I pass you by. :toung:

Tomorrow there is a full moon. That is a buy signal. Not sure how much back-testing/truth there is to this sort of trading but better cover all your bases RMI
