jpcavin's Account Talk

Clear as mud to me. -.91%=you, personally=me, better than -1.21%=others Why would you think it was all about you? Wait don't answer that...

There you go again with that fuzzy math.

What is it all about then? Because from my perspective...

Yes, to many waste gov time/resources on stuff they were not hired for. I don't due that (anymore). But don't come down too hard on her. Steadygain posted many thousands of lengthy posts. Most, maybe all on gov time. But think of all the wasted gov time wasted. There needs to be more reductions in force to weed out wasted resources.

Posting things like this does not make me very popular but I have to ask. You have a new job assignment so you actually have to do the job you were hired to do and will no longer have time to post to TSP Talk? I almost never (one exception) have time to post or even read TSP Talk at work.

Not picking on you in particular Judy, just wondering if so many have time to watch stocks and post while at work, maybe they need more work to do?

Just jealous I guess. I have to check e-mails while eating lunch lest I miss something. I usually work on updating databases while eating. Should I complain to my union about being required to do work while at work?

I am forced to do my posting at home on my own time.

I understand what you are saying and agree to a certain extent. A lot of our work is cyclical. Meaning, we are busy when a new class of students starts up and we are busy when a class graduates. Sometimes we get so busy that other departments come in to help us and other times, we have absolutely nothing do to...and we help other departments if they have anything for us to do. At times I go around volunteering to shred paper. Clearly not what I was hired to do either.

What about the doctors on duty at the emergency room. What do they do when they have no patients yet are required to be there? They watch television, or sleep, or go on facebook, and such. All the while getting paid a hell of a lot more than I do. While that may be wasteful, they need to be there "just in case."

Some people take all day to do something that should only take but a few hours. Yet to an outsider, they seem to be doing more work than the person who actually did the same amount of work at a faster pace.

Who's fault is it? I am not a manager. I don't make management decisions. I do my work as effectively and expeditiously as possible and then I ask for more work. That is all I can do.

For many years, I used to take work home. I did not get compensated for that. I think in the end, it all evens out.

If I recall, Steady posted early morning, late evening and in between patients. What would you have him do in between patients so as to earn his keep?

And FYI, they don't need to weed out wasted resources where I am at, they need to quit hiring new people. All it does is dilute the work.

The only one crying here is PessOptimist.

Mea Culpa.:(

My job could be described as cyclical but on a day to day basis. There is some down time which I use to go to the bathroom. The contracted facilities maintenance staff prefers that to any alternatives.

Haole? Is that like bi ligaii or maybe cabron around here? A term of endearment?

Everyone's job is different and allows different activities. Maybe after I finish my weekend chores me and Dr. Sammy will sit down and write a nice self serving "poor, poor, pitiful me" post from my own underutilized home place.

Peace Judy

Hello everyone...

Well, I'm on my third week of class to be a Navy Classifier. One more week to go and I'll be able to get back to my small talk and senseless posts. I can't even figure out how to add smileys with this new software.

Just noticed that I'm back down to 3.something% on the tracker. No access to computer at the critical times. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

Thanks for stopping by Bill. It's always nice to see you.

Take care all!

Good luck with the class. Can't wait to have you (and your wit) back on the forums.

With this kind of momentum lift off it can be expected to run in a parabolic manner for some time to come. The VIX at 15.19 off 1.33 today says the water is fine to mom and pop. The train is leaving the station right now and many will have to chase to get on.

How can you guys write this stuffYou act like fundamentals are at work when they're not.Have you ever heard of QE and low volume?Just some comments at your link. Ha ha.

Fundamentally awesome gains! :D Thanks for the visit. ;)

More comments from your "market isnt overbought" links (hey, I just cut and paste, Ok?)

Another thinly veiled pumping attempt by B.I.G.

The McClellan Oscillator is very overbought while the Summation Index has not even budged. Percent of Stocks Above Moving Average is NOT an overbought/oversold indicator. It is a measure of the health of the trend. If less than 50% of stocks are above the 50 MA and the market is short term overbought and long term showing signs of weakness, that is not a healthy technical setup. Using one indicator to tell the story that you want to tell is not analysis.

FAB, FAB, FAB
You forget I know nothing about the market. All these analysis and graphs that everyone posts may as well be in Mandarin. They mean nothing to me. I just go where the mood moves me. Haven't you figured that out already? Ignorance is bliss. ;)

Because this market remains undervalued and cheap I may be looking at the potential of making 1/2 million $ in two weeks. Bring on the buying climax.
