jpcavin's Account Talk

Well, I have a new job assignment so I won't be on here very often. I will be a Navy Classifier for students that drop from training. Can't be on TSP Talk while I'm helping the students pick a new job and/or orders.
Of course, I'll try to sneek in as often as possible. If the market is crashing and I need to bail, please send me a smoke signal.:D

Ok, but point them atrites somewhere other than Dam Neck

We will miss you !!!

Looks like we are in similar "boats" on the daytime posting issue. You did reach your 1000th while I was away. - congrats.

I'll have to burn some midnite oil to get my 2000th. :D

What's going on with the AutoTracker? I thought it updated automatically when TSP posted it's prices.

Thanks...I thought people just kept track of number of posts. Wasn't aware some people kept track of how many pages you've posted.

I'll be away at school for 4 weeks starting May 23rd. I wonder if I can keep track of the markets on the school computers?? :D It's going to drive me nuts if I can't.

I think it's a manual effort and maybe Admin has a 'coffee house investor' meeting (thanks Bullit, I did finally read the book) or maybe a family date night regularly scheduled on Fridays. I've noticed a pattern, can anybody post a chart of daily tracker update times and confirm the trend?

Yes, definitely some back testing needed! :D

Personally .95%. That's better than 1.21% :cheesy:

Oooh, don't go makin fun of my investment performance like that now, unless you like it rubbed in your face on the off days. I unfriended Grandma for (what I percieved was) that in a fit of rage one time, but I apologized later and explained and I think she forgave me.

Oh man, I should have checked the tracker first. I think I may have got that all wrong.

Good thing we aren't friends yet and I didn't overreact, again.

Too funny. Yes you had it all wrong! Does that surprise you? :cheesy: I was not rubbing anything in your face. I was simply commenting that I did better than the people that are invested 100% in S Fund. They lost 1.21% and I lost .95%. You actually did better than me at .91%. :D

Posting things like this does not make me very popular but I have to ask. You have a new job assignment so you actually have to do the job you were hired to do and will no longer have time to post to TSP Talk? I almost never (one exception) have time to post or even read TSP Talk at work.

Not picking on you in particular Judy, just wondering if so many have time to watch stocks and post while at work, maybe they need more work to do?

Just jealous I guess. I have to check e-mails while eating lunch lest I miss something. I usually work on updating databases while eating. Should I complain to my union about being required to do work while at work?

I am forced to do my posting at home on my own time.

I understand what you are saying. I had work to do until somebody else started doing it. That is why I requested to be transferred to another job.
But even when I do the other job, I still have time to look at my computer screen since most of my job is computerized. I can have several tabs open so I can keep an eye on it while actually doing my work. Not hard to do. I don't actually research the market...wouldn't know where to start. I just watch the ticker to see whether I should eat lunch or not...if you know what I mean.

PessOptimist...
After I replied to you I got to thinking. Most people on here work and post! Seriously, if people have time to go to the bathroom, smoke and get a cup of coffee they have time to post. I don't take a lunch, I don't take breaks, I don't drink coffee nor do I smoke. I'm also very efficient at what I do. Surely I'm entitled to a little time to check my investments and answer a few posts. Don't be such a PessImist. ;)

Well why didn't you just say so in the first place?

Now was that half an egg and six quarts of milk? errr...

Clear as mud to me. -.91%=you, personally=me, better than -1.21%=others Why would you think it was all about you? Wait don't answer that...
