Videos now popping up over on youtube.

Not for the faint of heart.

I have several good friends from Iran living in Chicago - that have been part of 'our family' for 30 years. Both are Professionals and have dual citizenship.

They went to vote - with polls closing at 9 pm. They made it by 6:30pm and were told 'Sorry we ran out of ballots'.

Both are convinced the 'Educated' were not allowed to vote.


It may be that we are all making too much out of this election. In the System that rules Iran - it is the Religious Leader who grants the blessing and that's pretty much 'The Bottom Line'.

In the same light it's the Religious Doctrines that keep girls from getting an education and all the other garbage largely filling that part of the world. The general population however are no different than us; which makes it even sadder. Women in Iran are getting a good education - so at least they are given somewhat of an opportunity to show their worth.
 
Perhaps it's time to bring the IED to Iran - afterall they built most of them. If you capture one rifle you can then capture three more and so it goes. It may eventually come to this type of violence.

Neda Agha-Soltan (Persian: ندا آقا سلطان ; died June 20, 2009) was an Iranian woman whose killing, during the 2009 Iranian election protests, was captured on video by bystanders. The graphic videos were posted on the Internet, and her name quickly became a rallying cry for the opposition. Neda means "voice" or "calling" in Persian, and she has been referred to as the "voice of Iran" and "a symbol of pro-democracy protesters battering the Islamic regime" in the world.

Now would be an opportunity to re-arm the MEK that are seeking sanctuary in Iraq. Let them return to Iran and build support. They will creat havoc for the Mullahs and probably put an end to the Iranian desire for a bomb. They'll understand violence and that is the only way.

Israeli official said 'Israel would rather have the current man as 'President' despite how Iran is reacting.

He said Isreal will bomb Iran beyond the shadow of any doubt if they remotely see the 'reality of a nuclear threat'

So from their perspective this is all playing out to their advantage. How can the world object when they take action.

This was on Public Broadcasting TV - Show FOCUS.

So what we're concerned about now is very trivial compared to the stage that's being set. I don't meant this to make light of the protester who was killed but I guess I see the potiential for much more destruction unfolding.

The Iranian regime has developed, with the assistance of European telecommunications companies, one of the world's most sophisticated mechanisms for controlling and censoring the Internet, allowing it to examine the content of individual online communications on a massive scale.

Interviews with technology experts in Iran and outside the country say Iranian efforts at monitoring Internet information go well beyond blocking access to Web sites or severing Internet connections.

Instead, in confronting the political turmoil that has consumed the country this past week, the Iranian government appears to be engaging in a practice often called deep packet inspection, which enables authorities to not only block communication but to monitor it to gather information about individuals, as well as alter it for disinformation purposes, according to these experts.

The monitoring capability was provided, at least in part, by a joint venture of Siemens AG, the German conglomerate, and Nokia Corp., the Finnish cellphone company, in the second half of 2008, Ben Roome, a spokesman for the joint venture, confirmed.

The "monitoring center," installed within the government's telecom monopoly, was part of a larger contract with Iran that included mobile-phone networking technology, Mr. Roome said.

No, they don't NEED ACORN or ACORN IRAN, Why pay people to get votes if everything's already determined to be 65/35?

This was the issue in the first place, can you *really* count votes that fast and how did the numbers in every province eerilie almost match in percentages.

This appears to be an attempt to leave themselves an opening by saying that there were more votes than voters. There's no reason for them to get a real count if there's no oversight whatsoever. This appears to be a fig leaf JUST IN CASE they have to backtrack and to acknowledge there were problems while denying it could change the outcome.

At least it wasn't a dimpled chad/hanging chad issue!
 
I keep telling you, the Iran Interior Ministry doesn't need to pay for more "voters" (ACORN) if they've already decided what's in there and can add as many "votes" they need to make the count work. This is what you call an inside job, they don't need no contractor, cause no one observes the count! :cheesy:
