Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

Exactly, eventually even if we get another Iran and Jordan falls and Yemen falls, business will resume. What are the chances of an Axis Of Muslim? We may have to take our shoes off outside the airport and maybe actually screen the plane cleaners though.

wth happen lol i left for an hour for class and come back and market is bloody :o

Nothing like a little revolution to shake things up now is there????:embarrest: This is shaping up to be something more than "just another day in the Middle East".

IT,
is a day traders account easy to open at brokerages such as Scottrade or Fidelity?

Pretty easy. Open a regular account, then apply for a margin account. Which is just 1 extra piece of paper to fill out. At that point, just start day trading, making sure to keep 25,000 (or much more!) in your account at all times. Once you make more than 4 round trip trades in 5 days, your margin account will automatically become a day-trading account. My humble advice is to not become a pattern day trader, especially if you're going to swing trade using I-T's signals. That type of account is not meant for swing trading for various reasons. (PM me if you want to know why.) A margin account is all you need, and it allows you to short stocks.

Thanks for your explanation

If you don't have experience or money suggest you all stay away from the margin game because it will hurt you. Back in April '10 that 16% correction cost me over $600K in devaluation and I came very close to getting the unpleasant margin call. Since that experience I've worked on building my lamb chop account available to be sold without emotion to stay ahead of the margin department. But it sure is fun in a bull market.

you dont think the whole egypt thing will drive it down further?

I think Egypt is just an excuse the talking heads come up with. We saw todays action lot's of times early last year. People just forget quickly when everything's been hunky doory for awhile now. The S fund dropped at least 2% or more no less than 12 times last year before August. We saw how we ended up for the year.

The market analysts always have an excuse as to why it happened. We knew the Egypt thing was happening or gonna happen yesterday, but we didn't off then. It's all about normal market behavior. The big guys vs the little guy. We all see how many little guys bailed today. It's all part of the master plan.........if you wanna walk like a puppeteer, you have to think like a puppeteer.......................I have no idea what that means, just thought of it...........

Intrepid,
.

I have you to thank for giving me a big day in the -I Fund-. I decided to stay in the market a little longer after your F signal, shifting over to the US indices where I could better track the topping on the charts and was fortunate enough to tack on nearly another 1.8% on top of what I had made in the -I- fund . I am sure that anyone who followed your lead and was initally bummed about "only" being up near 1.5% when everyone else was at 2-4% is now a converted follower of yours!:D

Nice move, and nice charts. :)

Sorry FWM, just saw your post over in the Egypt thread. Didn't mean to copy your thoughts about it and the market. We were just thinking alike...........:)

pretty crazy over there i cant believe our president actually give 1.5 bil each year to them...that country is the worse country i ever visit...well djibouti was but that is pretty bad...along with alot of disappointment too

thanks all for explanation cant wait till monday to see this baby rocket back into it's previous holding position

Ha, good stuff!

I've been pouring over some data when the VIX spikes big like it did on Friday. It usually resulted in a small continuation sell-off on the following day (Monday, in this case) but was almost always followed by some big up days in the week that followed.

That being said, this looks like the beginning of a topping process. I don't think February is going to be a good month for the market. I think this coming week will be a great week, though, and I'll be extremely tempted to use up my 2 new IFT's in the first week. I hate to do that, but like I said, this month looks shaky. My plan is to buy on Tuesday (Feb 1) and sell into the F fund Friday (Feb 4). If history repeats itself, it should be a very profitable trade.

Good luck all.

I'm inclined to think we just experienced a small bump in the road - nothing to get overly excited about. Most blow off tops (the last hurrah at the end of a rally and the beginning of a pullback) are on wildly high volume and are huge moves - I don't believe we are there yet. The VIX will cave as fast as it went up right back into the 15 level. There will eventually be a moderate consolidation but not yet. The VIX has to get below the Bollinger band at 14.66 before I seek any cover.

FireWxMet,

Thanks for the input. That is the dilemma. Use them both in the first week and hope to catch the bull's response, or wait and use them after the real fall. (assuming there is one.)

Birchtree,

Your thinking definitely lends itself to Plan A. Thanks.

I don't know how February will play or out, but like Frorule said, it may be prudent to pick your own battle..............this is what my system does pretty much every month. ;)

Getting a little dusty in here, what the heck, just because you've made the bigtime doesn't mean you have to abandon your thread, how's the weather?
