Hi everyone! Great site, I just found it a few days ago while trying to do some reseach on TSP. My husband who usually manages our TSP accounts is leaving for Iraq later this month. So, the job falls to me and frankly it's a bit intimidating. :shock:We are currently 50 S and 50 I. Good call for now?

I've been reading over the site and there is some great information. If anyone has any advice for a newbie investor it would be much appreciated! Or a recommendation on any reading material to get me up to speed. Investing for Dummies? :P

Welcome Leelei!

Advice: 1. Help us get this market unstuck. It can't seem to get any traction.
2. Read through "recent" talk and you will pick up on how members are transfering funds and changing allocations to their advantage. Some are buy and hold, some change with the market or what they feel is a better advantage. Tom (tsptalk) also gives his comments and allocations on the home page. Explore this whole site, it's got a lot to offer.

This site has a forum on Recommended Readings. Folks will give an opinion on some of the readings, like that was a good one, or don't waste your money, etc.

Investing for Dummies, yea thats us, except for a few, and those few help the rest of us "novices."

Here is a site full of stuff: http://www.incrediblecharts.com/site_map.htm

Welcome, Leelei!

Morningstar has some good tutorials. There are many sites that provide beginner info for any and every facet of investing. Goooooogle for them. Investopedia.com is a good one.

50S/50I is a fine allocation!

( That is what I did a few weeks ago ;)with new contributions going to C.)
