Guess Who This Is...

Hint: most of her work was in the '60s - '80s and she wasn't a blonde then.

I'm not sure what happened but I see some posts here were deleted. We did have a database issue for a minute based on some error messages, and I'm not sure if it impacted more than these posts, but clearly something went wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience.

A few people guessed correctly to Epic's last "Guess Who" Post. Spoiler alert. It was Robert Blake. :)

I'm not sure if this will be easy or difficult. I'll only say: Late 70's TV and he passed a few years ago. RIP.

Baby boomers should recognize this celebrity. I do, that is Chuck Barris host of a favorite TV show "The Gong Show." Still very recognizable in the Pics. He passed on several years ago.

Awesome !!! Great Job. :D
I wasn't sure if anyone would get it or not. I loved that show. It was a no budget "Star Search" or "American Idol".
He tried to push it to the limit with the censors back in 1977, and I recall JP Morgan flashing the audience a couple times. Gene Gene the Dancing Machine.......
He whispers to the girls at the end "No one's ever gotten a zero"..... CLICK ME >>>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDxDYIQL6Nc

He had a crazy past from what I can remember off the top of my head. I'd have to Wikipedia him, but I remember he had ties to or invented the Merv Griffin Show, and the conspiracy theory that he was a double agent for Russia. Also, his daughter who introduced him on the Gong Show for a while committed suicide (I think). This is all just from memory, so I'd have to look it up.
The fact that the acts on the Gong Show were so terribly, horribly BAD, is what made it so much fun to watch. Steve Martin and Alice Cooper appeared as "contestants" on the show at some point. Great fun !!!

Suspense, excess, danger and exuberant fun come together in Chuck Barris' unlikely autobiography - the tale of a wildly flamboyant 1970s television producer, better known as the infamous host of The Gong Show. What most people don't know is that Barris allegedly spent close to two decades as a decorated covert assassin for the CIA.

Barris, who achieved tremendous success as the creator and producer of hit TV game shows such as The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game, claims to have joined the CIA as an agent in the early 1960s, infiltrated the Civil Rights Movement, met with militant Muslims in Harlem, and traveled abroad in order to kill enemies of the United States.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is now a movie directed by and starring George Clooney, with Sam Rockwell as the author, but the original story is wild and gripping, spiced with intrigue, sex, bad behavior, and plenty of great one-liners. It is destined to become a classic.
