FAB1 Account Talk

Now we have broken thru to the downside...

GOOD thing I like roller coaster rides - UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN ad perpetuem

hoping today will not sell off late. that will lock profits and tomorrow risk reduced with half of tsp in F fund.but hopin for best that we go beyond to break resistance

Hopes about dashed there. Epic FAIL. well it was positive in the S fund where I got 100% of the 0.13. big woop.

 The market is sick - I am not expecting miracles.

GAK!

The market would go up 3% the day BEFORE we get our precious two IFTs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARRGH! Would I have gotten in yesterday before 12:00 noon if I had sufficent number of IFTs (say 4-5 a month) DAMN STRAIGHT I WOULD!!!!:mad::mad:

This stinking TSP board doesnt care if we make money, they seem to only do their level best to HURT us.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i was under the impression that a yesterday COB was counted as a Sept IFT i.e. 8/31 5:00pm transaction.

If so I wasnt aware of it - If SO now I am RRREAALLY TIFFED!!!!

To the best of my knowledge I could have placed an IFT after 12 midnight last night but it wouldnt take effect until Thursday's trading.

Tom or someone care to chime in here?

Seeing this was the BIG DAY (well IF it holds) way this market had been going tomorrow's trading may hit resistance so getting in then I would LOSE> no thanks. I will get tuppence from from little bitty C, S %tages...if my % of F doesnt wipe them out as it plunges. (insert facepalm)

If you had placed an IFT request before noon, Eastern time, yesterday it would be in effect for today. If you had placed an IFT any time after noon, Eastern time, yesterday, then it would not be in effect until tomorrow.

Clear as mud?

Yep, Mudvision. thankee for confirming what I already knew (or thot I knew)

I had NO IFT until Midnite last night.

Ergo, I (and surely others on MB) were screwed, blued and tatooed by our Honorable TSP board...which always looks out for our highest welfare /sarc.

FAB1,

Young man you should have never gotten out - this is a bull market you know. And the bull can only take so many riders.

No, I think that an IFT placed to take effect COB the last day (in this case 8/31 17:00, placed 8/31 before 12:00 EST, puts your change in effect the market day of 9/01) of the month counts as a next month's IFT.
Maggie?

FAB1,

Bull is right.

I rode the market the beginning of the year.

It was feelin fine until May.

The Bull ride turned into a something like trying to grab the greased pig.

the Pig market was tough to hold on to your @ss - I lost mine.

I can only hope to get these brief rallies to pull up out of the mire.

I had no opportunity to catch todays rally due to @sshat regulations made by the elite few to govern the unwashed. I had no IFTs until midnite 9/1/2010 so I didnt get 3% today.

I am truly glad for those who have hung in there baby the last couple of weeks = you will get back some of your losses during that time you were in the market. For those of you that have been hiding in the garage until yesterday and swooped in like some vulture and got back out again - I am jealous and I hate you forever!

I cant play very well in this See-Saw market, yes there is money to be made if you can time the market well. Hanging on to my paycheck contributions is making me more $ at this time. :toung:

In this kind of volatile market the strategy of dollar cost averaging with payroll is just perfect. I had dividends coming in today that will buy me fewer shares - more perhaps tomorrow - so I take what the market deems appropriate.
